Historia
Lucy Young is twenty-six and tired. Tired of fetching coffees for senior TV producers, sick of going on disastrous dates, and done with living in a damp flat with roommates who never buy toilet paper. After another disappointing date, Lucy stumbles upon a wishing machine. Pushing a coin into the slot, Lucy closes her eyes and wishes with all her might: Please, let me skip to the good part of my life.

Engaging well-narrated story
Revisado: 01-10-25
What a fun ride! Julia Whelan narrated brilliantly, and the story took some unexpected turns. When the main character has the 'Stop my life I want to skip to the good part' moment, I could never have imagined how fully realized the 'good part' would be...it was fascinating to listen along as the character figured out her life, who she loved, what mattered to her..nicely done Ms. Cousens. Very fun and inventive.

Historia
Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards and learning to accept love.

Very real and well done
Revisado: 02-27-22
I'm a new Kristan Higgins fan and am devouring all of her books! This one hits hard, as the female protagonists are 'women of size', and as a person who has struggled with weight my whole life [I am healed from that now], I was amazed at the accuracy of how it feels and what it's like. The characters are perfectly voiced by the excellent narrators. Kristan does not shy away from some brutal scenarios and pained family relationships, and balances it out with strong women, humor and style. Well done and compelling.

Historia
Meg Mackworth's hand-lettering skill has made her famous as the Planner of Park Slope, designing custom journals for her New York City clientele. She has another skill too: reading signs that other people miss. Knowing the upcoming marriage of Reid Sutherland and his fiancee was doomed to fail is one thing, but weaving a secret word of warning into their wedding program is another. Meg may have thought no one would spot it, but she hadn't counted on sharp-eyed, pattern-obsessed Reid. A year later, Reid tracks Meg down to find out how she knew that his future was about to implode.

Perfect!
Revisado: 04-24-20
Wow! Kate Clayborn has created a brilliantly intelligent, complex and fascinating story with Love Lettering. The female lead character Meg is so fully realized as an artist, and the descriptions of her letter craft are sumptuous. Her family heartbreak and changing friendships leave Meg with a pained, lonely heart. we get to see her rebuild and grow and its magnificent! The Male lead Reid seems so starched and reserved, but seeing how he evolves as well is just plain dreamy. The underlying plot twists and peripheral characters make this a compelling and magnificent story. Angst, tension, joy...we get to feel and experience it all. Nicely read by Nicol. LOVE!

enjoyable story
Revisado: 01-31-19
This is a really nice listen and very good story. The narrator isn't the most expressive that I have heard, but she was pleasant enough. Would certainly have enjoyed a Male voice doing Drew's POV, but still very enjoyable. I love how the characters overcame their individual past histories and related insecurities.

Ash: I still don't know how it happened. One minute, I was arguing with my arrogant competitor - our usual trash-talk over who deserves the larger commission. But somehow, I went from throwing down to kneeling down.... It can never happen again. I don't even like him. He's too slick. He's a manipulating, mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes. So why can't I get him out of my head? Sebastian: Ash is my missing my piece. She's the sweet cream to my gourmet espresso. And nothing gets me going faster than her contempt for me.

Historia
At fifteen I fell in love. His name was Jake Stephens and he took the abandoned, lonely girl I had been and made me whole. His love was a pure and unconditional love that made every day better than the last; a fairy tale of my very own. But this story isn't about Jake. It's about Abel Madden; the man I meet after the fairy tale goes to hell. A cocky, arrogant man who says what he wants, does as he pleases, and makes no excuses for it. He irritates me--downright pisses me off at times--but he also brings me back to life.

Great story, fine narration. It's a very long story arc, and it takes some pretty devastating turns, but love does win! Well crafted story with interesting characters and good friendships too.

Historia
The blockbuster number-one New York Times best-selling Rosemary Beach series ends with a bang when the troubled character audiences love to hate gets her very own happily ever after in this eagerly anticipated and overwhelmingly requested story. Known for causing problems for everyone in Rosemary Beach, Nan has been growing up lately, and she's finally taking center stage - and finding love with the man she least expected.

Hard to follow, weak motivation
Revisado: 01-10-18
The narration was fine, the story was just too over complicated, weak on romance, too many points of view going on, and the thread of suspense weakly motivated. I usually enjoy Abbi Glines books, this one was just too muddy. The female protagonist was wholly unlikeable. The narrators were great as always though.

Cliffhanger but worth it
Revisado: 06-15-17
I love to hear Joe Arden read just about anything, and am a big fan of K. Bromberg, so this book is a home run for me on that alone. I really enjoyed this story of Easton Wilder, star baseball catcher on his famous father's former club, trying to work his way back from an injury suffered at the hands of a nasty player. He is rehabbed by Scout, daughter of the deeply respected physical therapist Doc, who wants Scout to procure a contract with the one ball club he doesn't have under his career belt...Wilder's team. Great family drama, fabulous sparks of romance as Easton tries to win Scout's very reluctant, bruised and battered heart. Ends on a cliff, which I normally loathe, but this story is very much worth it.

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.
