So glad it’s not the last one!
Revisado: 01-05-25
This is such a fun story. As things were getting towards the end, I was sure this would be the last book in the series. But bam! No way! Clayton is evolving nicely and Selina is developing well too. I hope it can last several more books. This author’s story and the narrator work so well together.

Amazing character development!
Revisado: 11-17-24
Darn you Pirateaba! You did it to me again! I get so invested in the characters you create, and the relationships between them. It makes it hard to sleep at night because I don’t want to leave the world you’ve created. AND THEN… YOU MAKE ME CRY! AGAIN! But that’s OK. You do make me laugh out loud… “Dominance!” You are amazing! I’m grateful this is the career you chose. I love visiting the world you create ❤️ And the narration is amazing again too. The emotion is delivered so well by Andrea Parsneau. I love this team!

Meeting of minds
Revisado: 09-18-24
I love the Good Guy/ Bad Guy series. And that they finally meet, at the very end, has me at the edge of my seat. I also had a bit of an emotional roller coaster when I thought one of my favorite characters died. Another love I have is the kobalds. Boris is just adorable. Clyde’s made family is so endearing. All the different personalities keep things fun. The details of the stats can be a bit annoying, but that’s what fast forward is for, right?

Another great experience.
Revisado: 08-16-24
Travis Deverell and Heath Miller have done it again! So many times Travis hit me right in the feels. And the delivery from Heath made it so much more tragic. Maybe we could say this duo is the Mohamed Ali of Rumble in the Jungle ;) It kind of feels like the end of the series. I hope that’s not the case! I realize it’s hard to come up with new storylines for so long, but Travis has been tremendous so far without making it seem like writing a formula. We all know the man has skills. I’ll cross my fingers that we’ll see more of Jason and his friends.

Narration is amazing again!
Revisado: 07-21-24
The team on this series is incredible! Andrea Parsenau does it again. The story is good and I love how so many things are coming together from all over this world. For some reason I don’t have the same warm fuzzies for Lakin Gaddart. But in this book I was more fond of him. And thank goodness Reoka said something to Doreen so maybe she won’t be quite as dependent on Lakin for every decision. Pirateaba has built some amazing villains and this one is right up there. I may have nightmares of witches after this. I love how Lyonette is progressing. And Mrsha is adorable. And the inn … we’ve been traveling around the world, but I love coming home to the Wandering Inn.

In the world’s most magical metropolis where spirits run noodle shops and cash-strapped dragons stage photo-ops for tourists, people still think fairies are nothing but stories, and that’s exactly how the fairies like it. It’s a lot easier to feast on humanity’s dreams when no one believes you exist. But while this arrangement works splendidly for most fair folk, Lola isn’t one of the lucky ones.

Narration is important
Revisado: 06-05-24
I enjoyed the other two DFZ series. This one doesn’t, at least the first book, do it for me. I’m not feeling the connection with the MC. And the narration doesn’t help. I could tell when she was going to another page by the pause in the middle of a sentence. And you can also hear different background. Sometimes it was fine and others it was like you could hear echo like maybe she was out in the garage for a bit. I also don’t like to hear when someone bumps into the mic. Really needs some help with editing.

All the world's a stage...even when you're teleported to a new world. Struggling actress Cara O'Sullivan was walking down the street of Galway one moment, and the next, she was in an ancient tomb in a faraway world. Alone in the dark with her cell phone as her last tenuous connection to home, Cara sings her favorite song. To her astonishment, her song casts a spell of light into the world...and from the depths, something hears her. Challenged by a ghostly knight, a tragic necromancer, and hordes of undead, can a young woman who does not believe in heroes become one herself?

Revisado: 05-07-24
These two have done it again. Pirateaba and Andrea Parsineau ** sorry about the spelling ** are a dream team. The characters created have me cheering for, or growling against them. And the narration brings it all to life. I can see myself following this series with the same enthusiasm as Wandering Inn! And I’ve listened to that series a few times because it’s so well done!

He’s done it again!
Revisado: 12-15-23
I absolutely love this series! The banter between the MC and various characters and the gods cracks me up. And the influence he has on other characters, like Farrah and Shade, is hilarious. It’s like going on an emotional roller coaster with some events. I’m laughing because of some banter and the drinking games and stories about Clive’s wife and then I have ugly tears when a friend has died, about to die, or comes back from the realm of the Reaper to say goodbye. That last one was a different book, but the same amazing series. The narrative is done well and has a big influence on that emotional roller coaster I was talking about. I sometimes get thrown off by some pronunciation, but that could possibly be that I grew up in a different geographical region. The editing has been off a tad on the last two books, but not enough to throw me off the story. I was scared this was going to be the last of the series, as I tried to look up how many books would be in the series, and they said ten. But, with this ending there has to be another. If there’s not I’m going to have to pull a Jason and make it happen ;)

Land-ho! Clyde and co. have finally—finally—made it to the City of Darkness. Which turns out to actually exist! One small problem though. Anyone and anything that sets foot on the island immediately disappears. Ceases to exist. Poof. To complete the quest, Clyde needs to figure out how to actually enter the city and steal the crown jewels . . . without getting stuck in the town forever. It's a foreboding, dark place (obviously), where corruption is rampant. And maybe worse: the game rules Clyde's gotten so good at bending to his will? They don't seem to apply.

Not quite what I had hoped for
Revisado: 07-23-23
While the story had some fun moments, it’s not quite what I had hoped for. The character building was ok, but I never got a solid feel for the environment. At one point it sounded like there were cars in the new world, but they had no idea about a screen door. There were too many repetitive words like “awe” and phrases like “a knife through butter”. Seems like the editor should have caught that. As for the narrator, there were times I thought Captain Kirk was telling the story. If there’s another book I’ll probably give it a try because I know Mr Corvin has lots of skill, but I don’t see me listening to this again like I do other books.
