The title is apt: it is immoral to raise one child as less valued than another. The entire British monarchy, however draped in pageantry, rots from this essential dysfunction, and this insider account, whichever side you believe, is reminder enough that sometimes the least bad option is to remove oneself from others' gaslighting, without waiting for a justice which may never come. I can see why Harry might not play in the UK, for his story is archetypically an American one.

Be sure to order the paperback as well, and read along while listening. Excellent alone during your commute. There's a sequel as well. This pairs well with DuoLingo. One day I hope to graduate to Harry Potter in Welsh, but this book is a good first step.

Time to grow up

Wherein those who loved the moral clarity of "To Kill a Mockingbird" can finally, like Scout, accept that heroes are fallible, life is more complex and interesting than fairy tales, and that being "color blind" means seeing only in black and white.
Professional literary critics have been tripping over themselves to denounce Watchman for being no Mockingbird, but so what? I am not the same reader as I was in high school and no longer need virtue fed to me. Sentimentalists who worship Harper Lee the way Scout did Atticus deserve their fate.
This book is worth your time and money.
