How do I end up reading books like this. Just no. Dark is one thing but this book contains so many triggers I can't even begin to explain. Just take the warning on the first few pages seriously. Don't be fooled by the Gods connection that brought me in. This is not a nice read. No more for me. Won't be chancing this author again either.

I wanted to like this one but it's just too juvenile. The characters act like middle schoolers. The story is predictable and elements are just brushed away as unimportant. Even the "cliffhanger" ending was obvious. It's hard to believe the plot will span 5 books. I won't be reading them. There are such better books to read.

I enjoyed the characters and the story. The author did a good job of hiding who was against this couple Their story was sweet and there was a great ending.

I'm really happy I got the audiobook. I enjoyed listening to the author read this. He was there in the scenes he described and his voice made them come alive.

I am a former Republican who never voted or liked Donald Trump. But I was stunned by how much damage the man did to our country. This book is quite the eye opener.

It's also written in an interesting way with stories and personal information about the author that makes it a riveting read.

well worth your time and I highly recommend it to Americans who love their country and want to hold on to our Democracy.

Oh my goodness, I couldn't start this book soon enough. I was so upset about how Shades of Wicked ended. This couple needs to be together and I was not pleased that they weren't.

Nothing went their way in the first book. All the planning in the world still ended up blowing up in their face. So this time, they took a different route. Well, they did after Ian chased Veritas down and demanded she faces their relationship. That was just adorable. Though I will admit that I wanted to drop kick Veritas a few times. She needs to NEVER keep a secret from Ian again. Every time she does, it blows up in her face.

I had no idea where this was going. It felt like riding a roller coaster and holding on for dear life. Again, nothing was easy for this couple. They had a great plan but, alas, Dagon is one hard guy to kill. I was really surprised by his last play. And so very proud of Veritas.

I loved where this one was heading but then it took a strange turn setting up another book. I have begun to see just have crafty this author is. She has this couple together yet threatened by something outside of themselves. They must work together to overcome it. And thus I have learned that multiple books about the same couple can and do work very well.

The good news for me, is I can go back and read all the Jeanine Frost books I've missed along the way. See there is a happy in me thinking I didn't want to read more than one book about the same couple. Yep. Lots of books to dig into.

This books is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I'm now waiting for book three, Wicked All Night. If you are already a Jeaniene Frost fan (how very smart of you), then don't wait on this one any longer. It's just that good. If you haven't read her yet, don't wait either. Dig in, the pages are perfection.

Okay, I love this author, so reading this book was a no brainer. But did you get the fake relationship part in that blurb? With an unrequited crush? Oh, yes, I needed to read this one. AND I wasn't disappointed.

Their families are friends. Georgie grew up with a huge crush on Travis. But he only sees her as his best friends little sister. So when it's Georgie that throws food, yes I said food, at his sorry behind to get his head on straight, Travis takes notice. That's the point where their friendship begins. I loved that the book didn't bounce right into a fake relationship. No, they became friends first. That made the set-up perfection. It didn't take over the story at all. It was just a small piece. Loved that.

The characters really drew me. I'm interested in all of them and can't wait for more stories from this group of friends. I loved how they supported and cared for each other. But I will admit that the best part of the characters in this group was Travis. There is one scene where he stands up for Georgie to her family. I was cheering him on. Go Travis! He was spot on with the way they dismissed her idea because they saw her as young and not a part of the adults in the room. I loved this better than the group meetings, the apology latte, the wardrobe makeover, and the tear stained face make-up job. Lots of caring in this book.

Travis is one sexy baseball player. And the attraction between them starts quickly. As Travis begins to notice what's under that ball cap Georgie has on, he's definitely interested. But she is his best friends little sister. So he resists. I love a guy resisting. It's so much fun to watch. And when he quit resisting? That was HOT.

The pace of the book and the writing are awesome. I just didn't want to put it down. The story pulled me in and held me there. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next until....okay there was this point. I'll admit that when "the mistake" was made and I cringed, I was flipping to the end, just to quickly check. Yeah, it was good, so I could go back and read some more. I don't feel bad that I did this. It just means that I was so invested in these characters that I couldn't stand the idea of them not getting a happy.

There is more coming and I have questions. There is a flip I want details about. There is a relationship that I need to know what happens next with. There is a sister that I need to know about. And more. I'll be waiting for more.

The read is incredibly good contemporary romance with that excellent side of chic lit to make it better.

These characters! They make this book. And characters are the most important part for me! I wasn't expecting to love this one the best of the series. Wasn't expecting to fall for Devlin. He certainly doesn't make that easy but it happened.

Through both book one and book two of this series, I haven't liked Devlin very much. He was always prickly and suspicious. He keeps everyone at arms length. So many suspicious things about him and none of it cast Devlin in a good light. He never smiled. He never was a part of the bothers lives. They just shared the same mansion. And it all left me feeling like Devlin, the Devil as he was called, wasn't part of the human race. But then Rosie came into his life.

Rosie has a very confident and demanding personality. Hilarious and driven, I loved her ghost hunting ways. Outspoken and willing to stand up to Dev as no one else ever has. She demanded that Devlin be human. She brought the smiles out of him. She insisted he be human. He brings the rage cleaning/organizing out in her. I loved Rosie. And while Devlin tried very hard to push her away with his lack of trust and dare I say his di** he** ways, there was something that pulled them together. Call it the de Vincent curse or some smokin' hot chemistry but they kept finding themselves around each other. And once they were around each other, the banter began.

Beaded curtains and glow in the dark stars were but the beginning. They could argue with the best of them. He didn't trust her. She thought he was a jerk. But neither could deny the attraction. From the first kiss, they were both ruined for anyone else. Of course it wasn't quite that easy. It never is. But the chemistry between them lite the pages on fire. Both feel it and are amazed and confused by it.

Which brings me to the story. It really is a recovery story for both of them. Both have strong personalities and they need each other. Neither is willing to admit that or submit to that but fate has her ways. The unraveling of all the secrets had a huge impact on them. The surprises? Oh yeah, those were there. This author has a way of pulling surprises out of nowhere. And there is one BIG one in this book that I NEVER would have seen coming. Answers for the whole series are finally given. One I had expected in part but that too had a twist I hadn't seen. The bottom line is that the pages just flew by. I devoured it in a day. Then I paced around not wanting to leave this world, this family.

As always, JLA delivers an incredible story with great living, breathing, well rounded characters. She is an auto buy author for me and has been my favorite author for a very long time. This is her 50th book. I was reading her when it was her first book. Loved her then and love her now. If you've never read her books, you're in for a treat. It would be amazing to go back and experience them all again for the first time. As it is, they are on my reread list a lot.

This series is best experienced from the beginning. You can read this stand alone but it will ruin the experience of reading the other two. AND you do want to read the other two.

Jump on this bandwagon and experience this book, this series. It's amazing.

Best fake relationship story I've ever read!

My very favorite troupe is the fake relationship. I've enjoyed a lot of them. But I think I've found my favorite. This book does this troupe so very well!

The elements that need to be in place for this troupe to work is smokin' hot chemistry. Check. A disagreement as to the couple working for some reason. Check. And the reason they should fake it has to be believable. Double check.

Zane doesn't really believe in love. He sees no reason to have only one women when he can have many. So it is a strange fit for him to be starting an online match maker service. Yeah, there are some secrets behind that. But he's doing it and putting a lot of effort into it. He's also a demanding self made guy that expects a lot from those around him. And when we first meet him, he's less than charming. Less Than Charming. But I see more in him almost immediately. And I fall for him.

As for Harlow? She's trying not to be attracted to him. Her heart is not going to get involved. A job, that's all she needs. She's not really a believer in love at this point. Her dad taught her that. And Zane is a jerk. Hot, gorgeous and a jerk. There is no doubt that she's struggling with keeping her heart out of things. And watching them both try so hard not to fall was really fun.

Now one of the most important aspects of this troupe is why they are faking. And I loved how this story was a unplanned group effort by these two. Neither planned it and neither of them wanted it. Both were trying to get what they wanted and put one up on the other. And they fell right into the faking it situation that was just made for them both. I loved that. It was both of their faults. It was beneficial for both of them. It made it all the more believable.

And of course, these two journey to get through the experience without falling for each other. Yeah, that's not going to happen. What does happen is that they become friends. They care about each other. They share secrets. They develop a relationship while they still believe this will end. And then there is a moment for each of them where they realize what has happened. It's really perfection.

There were some interesting twists in this story that added to the depth of the relationship between them. There was also a surprise that made me smile.

I could listen to this story over and over and be happy with it. That's when I know it's a five star book. When I finish it and just want to read it all over again.

This book released as an Audible Original. It releases in paperback in January 2019. It's such a great audio book. If you've ever wanted to give audio a chance, this one is the one to do it with. I really enjoyed both of the narrators. They added to the story and I could listen to Rupert Channing all day long.

I'm pretty sure this book has ruined me on this troupe. It is the new standard by which I will measure those to come. Love it.

I listened to the audio book on this one. Paul Woodson, the narrator, has a deep sexy voice that I mostly enjoyed. I am pretty picky about narrators. They can make or break a book for me. I would say that Paul does a really good male voice but struggles more with female voices. I think the ideal situation would be for him to read the male parts and a female to read the female parts. That would make a really good combination. The problem I had was that all his females voices sounded the same and sometimes they sound...I don't know kinda childlike. But it wasn't enough for me not to enjoy the book.

As for the story itself, I haven't read the books prior to this one in the series. This book can stand alone though you do meet Bear and Crystal from book two. They are part of the Whiskey family and I liked them both. We don't meet Truman and Gemma from book one, though. I really liked the whole family aspect of this story. They own a bar together and they look out for each other. They are all part of each other's lives. That was nice.

If you're reading this for the motorcycle club aspect of it, I'd pass on this one. It's not a big part of the story. Yeah, it's mentioned and church comes up once but it's really not the focus of the story. Sure Bullet is the big tough motorcycle riding kinda guy. He has that strong desire to protect everyone he cares about. He's ex-military with some serious PSTD and that seems to define him more than the motorcycle club. If anything, I'd say this was a military kinda book.

Speaking of Bullet, I loved him. He's the kind of guy that takes care of those he loves and feels too much guilt when he can't protect people. He pulls people out of burning cars and tries to keep his family safe. He forgets to let others help him and he remembers every buddy or even just met guy who died in the military around him. I did really fall for him.

Finlay is nice. Bullet calls her lollipop and I liked that. She struggles to deal with the rough side of Bullet and has a fear of dogs and motorcycles. That makes for some problems as Bullet has a dog that helps him with his PSTD. She soon falls for Bullet's charms though and I did really like her.

There is a lot of heat in this story. If you enjoy many and detailed hotness scenes, this book has that in spades.

I wanted to like the story more than I did. You see, things felt forced in a few places. The characters acting just outside of their character. Even the climax was just a little bit off. Nothing bad, mind you, just off. Maybe it was that things were just too sweet. Too easily falling into place. While I enjoyed it, it just lacked the strength of books I really love. It's okay. It was nice to listen to one day as I did my cores but I won't be listening to it again. And I don't think I'll be reading books 1 and 2 or going on with the series. It was just okay. And let's be real. I have too many books I really want to read to spend time on just okay.

You can decide for yourself and others have felt differently but this one is just okay for me.

I continue to be impressed that this author can make each of the books in this series unique in some way. And it doesn't seem to matter that this is a novella, it had it's own flare and I just continue to devour them.

For the first time, we have a women trying to find out the dirt on the Kings. She's trying to trick Asher. Good luck with that. But it creates a new dimension to their story. When will he find out? How far is she willing to go to get her story? And can Asher ever forgive her if she tells the world? It was a gem among a series I'm loving and devouring.

The dynamics between these two are fun. She's on the offensive and she's strong. He's trying to survive something he doesn't want to do. They're both brilliant but no one can deny the heat between them. So the last thing to figure out will be if she tells before or after she falls for him? Or is there more truth she needs to learn about these Kings?

It was a great little story that I really enjoyed.

Are you on this dragon bandwagon? You should be. It's a great series.
