GASPING...GASPING..GASPING!!

I could not make it 10 minutes into it.
The narrators gasping for breath almost every sentence. what the hell?? Is he running? No. Is he swimming, possibly doing the butterfly? No. Then what the hell is he gasping for?? The is the worst. Instead of getting into the story, I am counting his gasps! Totally, ruined this book for me. I'm out!!!

Am I still sane, cause I really liked it!

I purchased this book because I love anime and seen the word Kaiju and didnt read further, didn't listen to a sample either..I must say I never listened to a book like this and I have an extensive library. I write reviews for the books I deem worthy, and this was.
At first my eyes would glaze over and I would fade out, not listening, it was just too much, so it took me a few weeks to finish this book. There was nothing good in this story, from the MCs real lives to full immersion VR. This book blew my mind, from the f'd up characters to the monsters. I mean twisted beyond belief, it came to the point where you ask yourself out loud. what the hell am I listening to. The scenes that unfolded were mind blowing. I want to give more detail but ya know, spoilers!. I must say though, impregnating that donkey!!! lmaooo. see what I mean, I should be ashamed for laughing. This book made my skin crawl, gaggy, scared, shocked and awed.I freaked out quite a few times. I was repeatedly asked, " why are you just standing in the middle of the floor staring with your mouth hanging open. That being said, there were heart touching moments, though very few, but timing was on point, then they would be snatched away. It is a hard book to listen to. okay. Joe Hempel, I never heard of him, his voice was perfect, I never got the characters mixed up, think I'm gonna call him the Cybil of narration from now on. Dinnamin your mind is a scary, twisted place, with all due respect. when I finally finished it I had to just lie here and think, or not think, I believe I was in shock. It is damn good writing and narration and I will repeatedly listen to this book. I have to re-listen to the parts that I faded out on. I just have one question..what genre would this type of book be? horror, grimdark, litrpg, mind f'k. I never dropped the f bomb until listening to this book and I honestly believe that all who listen to this book will too. ok I'm not done..I never liked Clara from the beginning and she got what she deserved though I didn't think he..oops. I loved bastey,?sp? He broke my heart near the end and the poor kids in the ablation room. one last thing, the creatures had names that gave little clue to what they could actually do and what they were made for, again many wtf moments. I dont think there is another author out here like Dinnamin. He deserves props for this.
Hollaaaaaa!!!!! and I'm not ashamed lolol. a little scared of him but not ashamed lolol. I think I earned a tee shirt for finishing this book, just like when you ride the biggest, baddest ride at an amusement park, yeah, an," I survived Kaiju by Matt Dinnamin- tee.

Original, intelligent, Emotional,, Mercurial, Epic

I absolutely loved this book! it was so original, I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down and found that I had to replay parts quite often. Not because the story was difficult to follow, but because I didn't want to miss a thing. Especially, the scientific aspect of the story. whats amazing is that it all made sense and was believable. so, someone did their homework. Yes, there was a lot of scientific jargon, physics, but it was put in layman's terms thanks to Dr. Reese.
I rooted for Luca and Nox, even though I can't see them having HEA. I still want them to make it. people playing God, messing up peoples lives and causing misery.The military, government, and of course scientific research companies do what they always do. its about war and money.
some mention there is a lot of sex, I believe it was necessary based on how the Anubis interacted as a pack. as they were created and revert to baser instincts..its more than sex, its belonging, caring, needful, give and take, and yes, even love in a sense. Remember they are of the hive-mind ..I wish I can say more about that. Kudos to MCs for being strong and fighting, though death is right around the corner. I even like the SCs, they have depth and don't complicate the storyline. lastly, the narrator is spot on with voices and emotions. This should be made into a movie or series. Thank you A Wilder and K Graves for this madterpiece.

5 stars to the 25th power!!!

This series is so good that I can't find the words to describe it. Every character is so fleshed out and has depth, from Wade with his annoying eating habits, to the fickle selfish gods.Each god is terrifying in their own right, the same goes for the other characters.. There is not one character I did not like. This series has so much detail, from the little bridge in Central Park to the catacombs in Paris. I dont see this series ending anytime soon based on the infinite number of gods available. Normally, in a series like this, a few books are lacking, or there is a dud book written, which leaves me pissed off or saying, "damn that was a waste of time" or " I wasted a credit" For example GRR Martin's a Dance with Dragons ( u get my meaning?)
This is not the case with this series, each book is attention. grabbing, perch on the end of your seat, raise up in bed and put the light on in the middle of the night, and my favorite..oh shit, did that really happen... rewind?! This series is like Hailey Turner and Gary Furlong had a baby.
A perfect creation only these to can make. Keep popping them out. I'll be your babysitter.lol
Gary the many voices and accents were on the money, you are fastly becoming my favorite narrator. I await with baited breath for the next in the series, just please don't take 7 years like you know who, with his lousy DWD.

Thanks for giving me one hell of a book

I haven't finished the 2nd book in the series and i am compelled to write this review. I hope this author has more books to add to this series. It would be a shame and a great loss to many readers to be deprived of such mastery. I truly enjoyed every aspect of this series. From the magic, which was original, to the characters. The ups and downs, twists and turns. The story is well thought out, characters are well rounded and fleshed out. The scions representing tarot cards was pure genius. The more I listened the clearer the tale became. There are so many positive and over the top moments that I am overwhelmed . I am actually jealous of scion and companion relationship- dynamics. The narrator was badass. Nailed every voice, from crazy old geezers to pre pubescent boys, kids, murdering psycopath,etc. In a nutshell, to escape the daily grind , this is where u need to go and the books you need to listen to. Get lost, lose yourself, laugh, feel despair, awe in these pages.
I can't say enough, so..thanks for one hell of a ride.

A tree sloth and a creeper walked into a bar...

I forgot a MC name within 20 minutes after finishing this book. probably because of his first impression of being a creeper. Story was off, it was either too much or too little. Never a happy medium.
The narrator carried this book, he was spot on with all the voices. The little girl was annoying.
I did chuckle quite a bit, but I never smiled.
Since I swore to be a Riley girl and I'm blessed with sticktoitness, I will forge ahead to listen to book 3. I'm praying that it will not be a disappointment, like this one is.
why was the other MC such a dullard?
I skipped this book after reading the storyline I had a feeling it was lacking, I went back and got it anyway. Thank goodness I didn't waste a credit.
The more I write, the more I want to subtract stars, so I better stop here.

True artistry, epic tale, stellar narration....

I will forever remeber RILEY HARTS name. This is one of the best gay romances I listened to. This is the kind of book, that doesn't come along very often.
This is my first experience with narrator, Luke Itzvic He did not disappoint. The raspiness of his voice did things. lol. oh and Luke, initially the MC's voices were too similar and it was hard to tell them apart. You hit your stride after a few chapters or maybe i started to connect with the characters.I dont know which,, but you did Riley proud and and it was all gravy.
The MCs were broken, together they were made whole. Their sorrow, guilt, rejection, loss, loneliness, hope, jealousy, passion, love and tribulations, added to character realness. My emotions were off the Richter. Did I mention passion and sexual tension?? The sex was not perverse, to me, it was beautiful. 10's across the board.
bottom line.. I could relate to the characters, which made me care ,which made them real and the story believable.
Not every author can do this, that is why I say Riley is stuck with me forever.
Thank you Riley for not giving me insta-love, I like that the MC's had history. Also like the hints you kept dropping, which made for the fitting of that last puzzle piece.

An Emotional Waterfall...

This is one of the best books of this genre I have ever listened to
I didnt know whether to laugh or cry at some parts. From the first crush, first kiss, first love to last a lifetime. Just absolutely beautiful. The story was so real. I find it hard to believe that it wasn't the authors' true life experience.
Unfortunately, parts of the book are real and many GLBTQ, live it everyday. (Its hard to write a review omitting spoilers lol) . The narrator was on point, except the Louisiana accent was a bit too subtle.
I just find this book true to life, from beginning to end. Never once did I say, why the h*** is he doing that, reasons were very clear, even though they weren't the smartest decisions. I was rooting for them to pull their heads out of their collective a***s
at then end.

Thanks T Armstrong for your wonderful thought producing, emotion invoking ( got me all into my feelings) style of writing. I'm looking foward to reading more from you

I absolutely loved this series. I really didn't expect it to be this good. each character had depth and I couldn't help feeling the sorrow, joy and passion. it was an emotional Rollercoaster. the narrator was spot on. I will definitely keep my on this author.

painful listening

it took forever to finish this book. I had to force myself to get through each chapter because of the narrator. I stopped listening 8 times and started another listen. since I do not like to leave books unfinished, I persevered. Narrators voice had a trembling quality which made the characters sound like nervous wrecks. (not to mention the false starts. throat clearing and mispronunciations, ) the book started out good and showed promise, but narration was so awful the characters came off as a big dysfunctional family. the characters seemed so immature for their ages. The punishments and tortures were very disciptive, yet the romance/sex/smex wasnt and felt rushed. ike the saying goes. a narrator can make or break a story. this was broken beyond repair. this may be a spoiler but I think the ending sucked..It did not due the book justice. I was going to give this author another chance but the more I think about it, I'm not. too many loose ends, poor character development.
not worth a credit or a buy.
