Interesting Concept
Revisado: 12-17-24
In the near future (post climate disaster), Ben, an AI that tells dad jokes, and his partner Charlotte, the head of Awkward Questions, are investigating why pages from library books are being stolen. Although often amusing and full of heart (I love a good misfit story), leaves one to ponder lots of big topics: climate change, social responsibility, morality, conformity vs breaking the rules for the benefit of society, etc. Excellent (as always) performance by Kristin Atherton. The final chapter also drives you to a free short audio prequel download from the author's website. Also enjoyable! Looking forward to the next in series.

Great to be back in Tristia! Sorcerer of words -- Sebastien de Castell -- weaves a clever tale that's both fresh and familiar. And Joe Jameson clearly had a blast bringing the cast of troublemakers and reluctant heroes to life. So much fun.

interesting
Revisado: 12-01-23
Although I enjoyed the author's approach to mixing fiction and fact, a grand opportunity was missed to utilize an Irish narrator. No offense to Mil Nicholson who does a fine job, but I would have strongly preferred an Irish voice given the subject. it would have been a much more immersive experience.

Historia
Once upon a time Orla was: a woman, a painter, a lover. Now she is a mother and a wife, and when her husband Nick suggests that their city apartment has grown too small for their lives, she agrees, in part because she does agree, and in part because she is too tired to think about what she really does want. She agrees again when Nick announces with pride that he has found an antiquated Georgian house on the Dorset cliffs—a good house for children, he says, tons of space and gorgeous grounds. But as the family settles into the mansion—Orla finds herself unsettled.
