Mia is adorable!
Revisado: 01-11-24
Mia is charming, happy-go-lucky, and loves food. Noah is quiet, thoughtful, and private. Both harbor guilt and worry about the past. It might be the narrator, but I feel like Noah is a little aggressive with his words - not what I was expecting. Still because of Mia I clung to this story. I read The Roomate Pact first and absolutely adored it so I thought I’d really like this one too. I did but not as much as The Roommate Pact. I loved the little game that the couple played with each other, and the pranks, one of which an old office mate did to me years ago. This is worth a read!

Loved almost every bit of this book!!!
Revisado: 01-03-24
I say almost…keep reading…
The college lifestyle is definitely what this book is all about. Discovering yourself - not just career oriented but really what you want in life and a relationship - should you choose a relationship lifestyle.
The characters are very likable - even the jerky-type characters that some readers, I know, have definitely been turned off early within this book. I promise, get past the first 3 chapters within Jaxon’s POV you’ll see the softer side of him!
I picked up this book for multiple reasons - 1) it’s a debut 2) It’s based in Ohio so the settings I’m very familiar with, and 3) I love dual POV, especially RomCom.
This book has become a comfort book for me, no lie. I dig a softer side to the macho-man and Jaxon definitely has a softer side (although we don’t see it for a little while). I swooned early on with the first interaction he has with Maci.
The only reason I did not give this story a 5 star is because there’s a small plot-hole - and that’s because this is supposed to be the first in a series of books! One can gather what’s taking place but I wanted to know MORE about Jaxon’s upbringing. Outside of that plot-hole within this first book tot he series, I was in love with this book entirely, and I cannot wait until the next one comes out.
Also, the narrator is top-notch. The voice of Conner threw me off a little bit but once I got past that little bit - this narrator is definitely a new favorite for me!

Historia
A sophisticated, pause-resisting double love story spanning 40 years-an unforgettable Brief Encounter for our times. It is 1960. When Jennifer Stirling wakes up in the hospital, she can remember nothing-not the tragic car accident that put her there, not her husband, not even who she is. She feels like a stranger in her own life until she stumbles upon an impassioned letter, signed simply "B", asking her to leave her husband. Years later, in 2003, a journalist named Ellie discovers the same enigmatic letter in a forgotten file in her newspaper's archives.

Couldn’t put it down!
Revisado: 08-01-23
This is the very first book I’ve allowed myself to become obsessed with for at least a year. I haven’t read a love story for a very long time, but when I watched the movie version on television recently, I found this and listened to the sample. Very quickly did I realize that Susan Lyons was a narrator whose voice I loved to listen to. Without a good narrator, I couldn’t have listened to this - I would of had to actually physically read the pages. I became lost in the vocabulary of the book itself, and found myself chuckling, having moments of sympathy, and empathy. Then, I also detected a hint of a mystery, although we knew Anthony and Jennifer quite well we still didn’t know what happened to them later on…I was so excited when I felt I solved it. I became lost in the 1960s from the descriptions. I could see the road that Anthony walked on to find the house. I could actually see the faces of the minor characters - friends, coworkers, business partners and even the secretaries and journalists. I love this so much I plan on buying copies for my family so they too can enjoy just how wonderful this book is. I never found a dull moment in it, either. If you are questioning whether or not to plunge into this, back into time, don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed.

Definitely a series worth reading
Revisado: 04-01-23
What caught me initially is a review stating that their children liked this more than Harry Potter. Harry Potter was a large part of my high school and college years and I often search for that familiar comfort. If you enjoy a world of fantasy, adventure, and discovery - this by far takes the cake. The first story, I admit, I was trying to figure out where exactly we were headed - but the characters were so easy to fall in love with, and the details the author puts into each and every person, setting, and the meaningful conversations kept me going to the end of this book. I hungered for MORE. If you start this series, be prepared for your imagination to explode with the setting the author creates. Be prepared to smile, to laugh, and to love. Be prepared for danger, concern, and fear. This series throws you through many emotions. The author is the speaker - and he does an absolute amazing job all the way around.

Historia
Magical mapmaking is an ancient art - and also a major pain. At least, Finch can’t help but feel that way since Erebus transported him to the mapmakers’ monastery with little to no instructions. Now, he’s stranded on some Greek island until he can learn how to draw maps to places he thought only existed in legends, like El Dorado and Shangri-La.

Characters are fantastic!
Revisado: 04-24-20
The more I learn about these characters the more I fall in love with them! Finch by far is my favorite. The author is great when it comes to character development. They seem very real despite these books are dealing with magic. You see the good and the bad with each character as you continue along with the books but also get a good amount of good and bad equalities of the new character in the books. I was not a huge fan of the story line in this one - but the characters conversations and friendship kept me interested all the way through. The series is the beat series I’ve come across since I was a child. The narrator is by far one of my favorites.

I enjoyed the first book more than the second, but love how the characters relate to each other. Friendship, uneasiness, shuttle-love and fondness. The main character is brutally honest and true. ReDy for the next!

Revisado: 01-15-19
I’m a huge fan of the author. This is the third book I’ve listened to. It was the shortest, but I was not too obsessed with the story like I’d hoped I would be. The ending did throw me for a loop, which I was happy there was a twist like always. Great for a quick listen.

Great Mystery
Revisado: 01-09-19
I’m a sucker for mysteries. And plot twists. I kept listening to every detail, preparing to figure out the mystery before the end of the book. Only the second book I’ve listened to (my first was “Gone Girl” but this is my favorite of the two. I love the characters. The author developed their characters so well, and so perfectly human they are easy to relate to and see as human beings. Well worth the read/listen.
