Not bad...
Revisado: 09-19-15
Comparing it to the book I was reading before this it was a breath of fresh air! Plot pretty straight forward a little predictable, but overall a decent book.

Historia
A supervolcanic eruption in Yellowstone Park sends lava and mud flowing toward populated areas, and clouds of ash drifting across the country. The fallout destroys crops and livestock, clogs machinery, and makes cities uninhabitable. Those who survive find themselves caught in an apocalyptic catastrophe in which humanity has no choice but to rise from the ashes and recreate the world.

First Audiobook I stopped listening to.
Revisado: 04-25-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I thought the voice narration was horrible, the person reading paused way too much between sentences and after about 5 minutes of listening I wanted to reach into my headphones and put him along. There was no flow and the narration did not build excitement as it should have as the story progressed.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something other than Turtledove, I have read one of his books and did not like it, I thougth that, this being something out of the normal arena of what he does might be a bit better, but it was actually a bit worse.
What didn???t you like about Jim Frangione???s performance?
I thought the voice narration was horrible, the person reading paused way too much between sentences and after about 5 minutes of listening I wanted to reach into my headphones and put him along. There was no flow and the narration did not build excitement as it should have as the story progressed.
Any additional comments?
Others may like this novel, but I would not recommend it. There was no flow to the story, no real excitement portrayed and the voice acting was not up to par with the 50+ other audiobooks that I have listened to. It was truly not an enjoyable experience. I stopped listening after the first half of the book, as I could not take it anymore.

Marsters is needed....
Revisado: 08-14-11
I will add my voice to the consensus that James Marsters is needed for the Harry Dresden novels...The book was good, but not as gripping as when read by James. I gave it a chance and will not listen to another without Mr. Marsters talent. I had been waiting for months to listen to this book and was very very disappointed. They should have waited to release the audiobook until the "Scheduling conflict" could have been resolved.
