Historia
Since childhood, Yolanda Vance has forged her desire to escape poverty into a laser-like focus that took her through prep school and Harvard Law. So when her prestigious New York law firm is raided by the FBI, Yolanda turns in her corrupt bosses to save her career - and goes to work for the Bureau. Soon she’s sent undercover at Red, Black, and Green - an African-American “extremist” activist group back in her California college town. They claim a biotech corporation fueled by Pentagon funding is exploiting the neighborhood.

Far from subtle
Revisado: 12-24-21
I couldn't even finish. Subtlety is not an art the author has even attempted - not in the characters, nor in the storyline. Educated black woman gets caught up in white culture until she meets real black people (and a romantic interest) and her eyes are opened to the reality of oppression. She is SHOCKED to learn the FBI often sides with corporate interests over minority communities. (insert eye roll here) Such a tired and predictable story.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Excellent. Not what you might expect!

Great to hear a book read by its author, especially when the author is such a good communicator.
