What made the experience of listening to McNally's Secret the most enjoyable?

Who was your favorite character and why?

I'm a fan of the series and Archie is of course my favorite character though, I do get a kick out of his father.

What about Nathan Lane’s performance did you like?

He didn't overvamp it, didn't "Birdcage" it. He was able to deliver the "fashion" lines believable.

Any additional comments?

Another of my favorite series that since I can not get the books for my kindle, I can still listen to them

What did you love best about 102 Minutes?

It put me right there. I was captivated from the beginning

What was one of the most memorable moments of 102 Minutes?

When I realized I was on my seat waiting to hear what happened to each person.

What does Ron McLarty bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings a voice, and a sound

Yes, wanted too, but couldn't

I lent it to a friend and she had the same reactions. We were both very moved by it.

Would you listen to Grass Roots again? Why?

Pleas see my reviews of Chiefs and The Run. I did not realize that Barrett Whitener did not narrate all of this series. The voice and acting continuity was great

Would you listen to The Run again? Why?

Yes, I actually did because I diid not get the first few in tis series in order, and I went back to re-listen in order

What other book might you compare The Run to and why?

Some of it makes me think of one of the earlier Jack Ryan novels by Clancy. The political game, without the international spy thriller part.

Which scene was your favorite?

Not so much a scene, but Ken Howard's southern gentleman accent reminded me so much of my uncles.

Where does Chiefs rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the top. I loved the entire series.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I wanted to see how it all turned out and how everyone fit together in the end

Which scene was your favorite?

I'm not sure as it's been a while since I listened to it. I do however keep envisioning the family home through the years

The past never leaves, it just becomes the future

The family and national history as well as how some of the "stories" came to be.

Catherine was neither all good or bad

I've not read the print version yet, but based on the audio edition, I bought the book.

What did you like best about this story?

The details both social and political.

What about John H. Mayer’s performance did you like?

He sounded like a southerner, more Virginian than Tennessean but still, that Southern Gentleman voice

The founding fathers - they were brilliant

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice, his personal insight.

Anyone who wants to talk about or debate the constitution with others should listen to this before daring to open their mouths. You cannot listen to this without giving thought to what makes the constitution work and what destroys it. It gives a better understanding of that document.

Yes, there were so many nuances and a few asides that I did not catch the first time

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The differing points of view between the justices were interesting. I especially appreciated the personal give and take between the justices themselves. It really made them human, real people in my mind. I could see them in a group teasing each other like most co-workers do. I have always seen them as political figures but never really as co-workers to each other.

I'd Listen to This Narrator Read the Phone Book

Would you consider the audio edition of Venetia to be better than the print version?

Absolutely! I'm not a fan of romances however the narrator has such a gift for voices and dialects as well as a voice to make you melt

Would you be willing to try another book from Georgette Heyer? Why or why not?

Only if Richard Armitage was the narrator
