Historia
My name is Saraphina Proctor...and that’s the only thing I can remember. I woke up alone, surrounded by darkness with no memory. No one here knows who I am, I don’t fit any of the missing persons reports, and the doctors can’t find a single thing wrong with me…my memory…my life…they’re just…gone. But something lurks in the shadows in Salem, watching me…waiting.

This book needs a narrator that can do more than one voice. It could also use a good editor!

Multiple characters with more than one name makes story even more confusing and is unnecessary. Just adds to the muddled mess.

Historia
Viktor Orlov had a longstanding appointment with death. Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.

One of Silva's best!

Gabriel Allon never disappoints. This one, one of the best. As usual, the story could have been taken from the current headlines!

Great story

Really enjoyed the historical background and the change in personality the main character underwent. My favorite of the "sisters" books thus far.

Good story needs better editing /writing

Overuse of same descriptive phrases and truisms annoying and detracted from interesting story line. Main character too whiny and insecure to be believable.
