Historia
Tina Knowles, the mother of iconic singer-songwriters Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Solange Knowles, and bonus daughter Kelly Rowland, is known the world over as a Matriarch with a capital M: a determined, self-possessed, self-aware, and wise woman who raised and inspired some of the great artists of our time. But this story is about so much more than that. Matriarch begins with a precocious, if unruly, little girl growing up in 1950s Galveston, the youngest of seven.

Enchanting love story
Revisado: 01-12-25
Loved the narration and story. The characters are complex and memorable. Initially when listening to the perennial twist, I started to lose interest for a hot second, and sped it up to get through it. Then it quickly became so alluring, I kept the speed wanting to experience the journey! I really enjoyed this story rich with beauty, love, suspense and romance. I was happy to see Ricki and Ezra stand up to Ricki’s family. Loved the way the epilogue concluded the story. Looking forward to reading more about these characters…Ended up loving this story more than I thought I would. Would be a great movie or series for one of the streaming platforms!

Historia
It was supposed to be the highlight of her career, the pinnacle for which she’d worked all her life. And as Hattie McDaniel took the stage in 1940 to claim an honor that would make her the first African-American woman to win an Academy Award, she tearfully took her place in history. Between personal triumphs and tragedies, heartbreaking losses, and severe setbacks, this historic night of winning best supporting actress for her role as the sassy Mammy in the controversial movie Gone With the Wind was going to be life-changing. Or so she thought.
