Try as he might, Fischer still can't catch a break. Tropica's forces have just perpetrated the fantasyland equivalent of crashing the king's party, kicking over the punch bowl, and making a series of rude gestures on their way out. Unfortunately, they're about to learn firsthand that when you take a bully down to the mat, it's best to make sure they don't get back up. Because their enemies are unearthing long-forgotten powers, and if those dabbling in the resulting destructive chi succeed, they could become even more annoying than the time Corporal Claws hid all of Fischer's pants.

Over the past year my rosary praying went from daily to only on occasion. I am so happy Fr Mark-Mary is doing this. I needed a deeper connection to the Rosary.

Foul language
Revisado: 11-15-24
The story started off good and then mid way descended into three words, F*** and The lords name in vain. I would think an author could use their brain and come up with other words. Very unnecessary. I don't understand why Audible would recommend this to me given what I usually listen to.

Overall solid, if middle of the pack
Revisado: 08-30-22
There are a few things wrong with this book but as a whole it wasn't as bad as the reviews seem to make it out to be. The epilogue is interesting for those who want world building and are interested in the setting, it plays out almost as a short story tacked on to the end of the book as a way to set up many things without wanting to dedicate an entire book to them which I appreciate rather than rail against. The biggest complaint I have is probably more of an issue with its audiobook format than the story as a whole but it gets annoying when I have to listen to description after description in the middle of combat for abilities I already know the effects of, sometimes it feels as though an ability description is read twice within the same chapter. in a written format I imagine these are easy to skim over to remember and then continue but I found myself skipping sometimes a minute or two minutes of audio book out of frustration and then trying to figure out where the description ends. I got to a point where I simply stopped paying attention to combat scenes and pretty much skipping them in the middle because I would rather miss a chapter than sit through them. That is a harsh statement to make but it is all to say that in the end I think the book still came out as worth reading and continuing the series, the epilogue was interesting and a nice break from the single mindedness of this particular book.

Historia
It took nearly two millennia for the enemies of the Catholic Church to realize they could not successfully attack the Church from the outside. Indeed, countless nemeses from Nero to Napoleon succeeded only in creating sympathy and martyrs for our Catholic Faith. That all changed in the mid-19th century, when clandestine societies populated by Modernists and Marxists hatched a plan to subvert the Catholic Church from within. Their goal: to change Her doctrine, Her liturgy, and Her mission.

Excellently presented
Revisado: 09-29-19
I was baptized and made my initial sacraments in a church that resisted full change to the ON mass. I left as a teen, came back as an adult and was confused by all the laxity in the mass. At first I liked it because I was of the secular world. The more I see and study, the worse it gets. I am very happy to have found Traditional Catholics like Taylor Marshall. This book helps tie in the Marian apparition messages to the truth of the faith and what is really happening.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

In a world full of super powers, Felix had a pretty crappy one. After learning to harness his ability to modify any item he owns, he now runs a corporation that is rapidly expanding - Legion. After tangling with the local Heroes guild they’ve finally settled into a semblance of stability. Sounds great on paper. Run your company, make money, be your own boss, settle down. Except that with running a business, comes an inordinate amount of responsibilities. Like making sure everything keeps running and your people are paid.

a improvement on an already good story
Revisado: 05-16-18
this book took the story from a fun super power harem book to an actual serious and engrossing story. the writer did a great job coming up with new ideas and characters, I really felt much more attached to the series after this book then I did after the first. I love the nod to the wild wastes series that is in the book as well. I was a bit disappointed that Jeff Hays was no longer the narrator even though the current narrator has been another of my favorites, though my disappointment stemmed more from a switch of voice after getting used to them in book one rather than any lack of skill on the narrators part. he did a great job at keeping as close to the voices for each character as a different person can. over all the book was a massive improvement in a already entertaining series.

Historia
Alvin woke in a room that was not his, to discover that he had died and his brain had been bargained off cheaply to pay off someone else’s debt. It did not sit well with him. It didn’t surprise him that even in death, people were still using him for their own purposes. He had never exactly been a good guy, but everyone had their breaking point, and he had found his. The bastards in charge had uploaded his mind into a virtual death game. The whole world could now pay to see him play it and probably die. Regardless, he was not about to wait for death to come for him.

Rough start, great ideas
Revisado: 04-08-18
TLDR push through he first seven chapters and it gets much better. great characters relationships, a bit more sex than I expected but to each their own. Brought new ideas to the lit rpg genre
spoilers below
the story brings some new ideas to the lit rpg genre, I enjoyed the book overall but the beginning had me on the verge of refunding for a little while. the first couple of chapters had quite a few poor writing choices that we're eventually overcome. the writer seems more interested in shoving his ideas down your throat rather than leading you to them. in the beginning you are repeatedly informed of the main character being an sarcastic ass rather than letting the reader figure it out by his actions. his interactions with Scott seem forcibly over the top just to add more evidence to him being an ass, before their snarky chats fall into a more comfortable banter later on. His back story seems to come out of no where and then is gone far too quickly, rather than building up to it he seems to throw it at you quickly after he shoots his first zombie and while the backstory it's self is interesting, the way in which it was implemented seemed lacking. there were a few other things that seemed poorly done in the beginning but these were the biggest two. After chapter 7 or so the pace picks up and with the majority of the system explained the writer fell into a more comfortable rhythm and did a great job build the relationships between characters. I'll stop here but the idea is that the writer seemed to find their bearing after the first few chapters and it became far more enjoyable after this, plus once the voice for Scott changed I was far less annoyed with the AI.
