Daisy is an enjoyable narrator but bless her heart she has no idea what real problems are. So ungrateful. I’m a POC and for the life of me I don’t understand why Daisy seemed so determined to create a bigger divide than there was. Oh you poor thing, you had a white family that didn’t see you as an outsider. How terrible. I have to wonder if Daisy had a hobby or activity if she would still be obsessed with this agenda? I feel awful for her adoptive mother who tried to raise her in a united world where skin color doesn’t need to be divisive.

Lisa Gardner was one of my favorite authors until this book. Lisa, why did you have to go and do the same old romance novel that every author has done? Fragile damsel in distress. Manly neanderthal man immune to all other women suddenly turns to jello over her and needs to save her. Blah. If I didn’t know this book was released in 2018 I would have sworn I read it before.

I never laugh out loud when I read or listen to something funny. I just laugh in my head. However, there were a few lines in this book where I just couldn’t help myself and I giggled like a hyena.

I love Chelsea. But enough with the Trump bashing.

Chelsea Handler is one of my favorite people in the world, and she is literally the funniest person ever. I truly enjoy her books and laugh out loud constantly while reading or listening to them. That being said, the first 50 or so times she made fun of Donald Trump in the book was tolerable, but the next 50 were annoying af. Like, we get it, you hate Trump. Does it really need to dominate your book? Can you possibly get through a few pages without bashing him? Typical Hollywood celeb out of touch with reality.

Christian Rummel is the best narrator I’ve ever heard, so I’m sure that’s partly why I loved this book. But I truly enjoyed the story and will be purchasing the next one in the series immediately!

I bought this book on a whim because I think Christian Rummel is the best narrator, but I actually ended up really loving the story! So much I’m planning on getting the rest of the books in the series! I’m officially a fan.

Last third dragged on... first two thirds were fabulous!

Loved this book.... at least for the first 2/3rds. The last 3rd dragged on and on so unnecessarily. Very slow moving. But overall it was truly a gripping, well written story! Narrator was good.

This narrator was sooo good! He’s my new favorite. I never thought anyone would be as good as Scott Brick, but this guy definitely beats him in my book.

Worst narrator ever

I can't tell if the narrator is drunk, falling asleep, or just 97 years old. I gave the story 5 stars because I'm sure if I could stand listening to it for more than a few minutes it would be a good story, as this author is usually good.

My 1st review after 2 years of audible

I've listened to close to 100 audible books over the past few years and this is my first time writing a review. This book was so good! I couldn't stop listening to it; it was just really gripping. I loved it. The author was also the narrator, so I was prepared to find the narrating sub-par since it wasn't a professional, but she was actually extremely good. If she doesn't write more books she could easily go into a career of narrating audible books, that's for sure.
