Disappointing
Revisado: 06-10-20
I really expected a better audiobook than this. I had hoped that Judge Pirro would go into more depth on the subjects covered. Rather, she seemed to just regurgitate material that she had presented in her "Opens" of her television show. Could have been much better.

Historia
A series of books to give inspiration and opportunity to those middle-class persons who are not poor enough for charity, nor rich enough to afford things themselves. The author intended to inspire, with the kind of inspiration that makes a man go out and create his own opportunity. Yours is the world and everything in it!

Great book, less than satisfying performance
Revisado: 04-30-20
Collier's book is a classic of self-help/improvement literature. Unfortunately, it doesn't get the quality reading it deserves. Mr. McCoy butchers names, particularly non-English ones. His reading style is quick and even sloppy. One example is an instance where he substitutes "road" for "round." I tried to put up with this reading for as long as I could but ultimately had to abandon it. It's a pity. This text deserves better.

Historia
Investigative journalist Lee Smith's The Plot Against the President tells the story of how Congressman Devin Nunes uncovered the operation to bring down the commander-in-chief. While popular opinion holds that Russia subverted democratic processes during the 2016 elections, the real damage was done not by Moscow or any other foreign actor. Rather, this was a slow-moving coup engineered by a coterie of the American elite, the "deep state," targeting not only the president, but also the rest of the country.

Great Book, Only Passable Reading
Revisado: 12-11-19
Lee Smith writes a compelling story of Congressman Devin Nunes' investigatory team and the Russia Hoax. The writing is lucid and holds attention. The narrator, Addison C. Reynolds, reads the story well, but has a habit of mispronouncing names, names that should be familiar to anyone who has not been living under a rock for the past three years. For example, he consistently pronounces Devin Nunes' name, NUN-yezz, even though Nunes pronounces it NU-ness. Also, the former Special Counsel, Robert Mueller, pronounces his name, MULL-er. The narrator pronounces it, MEW-ler. At least he's consistent with those mispronunciations. Russian ambassador Kislyak might be amused to find out that Mr. Reynolds pronounces his name several different ways throughout the text. This annoying habit has the effect of undercutting what was, otherwise, a good reading. All in all, a good reading and listening experience.

Historia
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

Well-written story, so-so narration
Revisado: 07-30-18
Mr. Jarrett has produced a well-written book on a particularly grim subject: the corruption of the United States Justice Department, the Obama Administration's attempts to influence the election and, failing that, to derail the presidency of Donald Trump. I have no problem with the book.
I DO have a problem with the narrator. Unless one has been living under a rock for the past two years, how does one not know how to pronounce the names of the major players in this drama? For example, he pronounces Strzok ("Struck") as "Strow-zack", Nunes (NEW-ness) as "Noons", Papadopolous ("Pah-pah-dah-pole-ous") as "Pah-pah-doe-pole-ous". I admit that these are picky points but, c'mon, man. Is this narrator the only person in the United States that doesn't follow the news?
Still worth a listen, though.

Historia
Like cascading dominoes, the intentional departure from believing the Bible is inerrant has plunged the church of the 21st century down the treacherous slippery slope of accommodation and compromise. How is the emergent church's push for globalization harmonizing with the new world order in these prophetic last days? The author unfolds the shocking progression of ideas that were birthed in a nest of aberrant church beliefs.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would not recommend this reading to a friend. The author reads in a dry, monotone manner. He frequently coughs and mispronounces words that he wrote.
How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator would have been a plus.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Historia
The Augusta National Golf Club in eastern Georgia is an American icon shrouded in intrigue. It is every bit as exclusive as its prestigious Masters Tournament. Behind the wondrous scenes and memorable tournament play, however, resides a secretive and clannish club with a gentlemen-only membership of 300. Their shared legacy is an institution co-founded by the unlikely partnership of Bobby Jones, unparalleled amateur golfer, and Clifford Roberts, a tight-lipped Wall Street investment broker.

Outstanding
Revisado: 05-05-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would heartily recommend this book to anyone interested in the history of Augusta National or the Masters Tournament. Eubanks takes an honest look at the Club and Tournament that can be incisive, humorous, and respectful at the same time.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Augusta?
Eubanks describes the contentious Clifford Roberts fairly accurately. Roberts was cranky, irascible, and a stickler for detail. He was a hard man, somewhat aloof, and - as the Curtis Tillman story shows - not without a good share of racism in his veins. Yet, at the same time, his organizational skills went a long way in making the Masters the great tournament that it is.
What about Tom Parker’s performance did you like?
Tom Parker's narration is pretty good. It would have been nice if he had pronounced Joe Dey's name correctly (it rhymes with "Die"). However, he handled Severiano Ballesteros with ease, so that says something.
Any additional comments?
This audio book is really quite good. It's competitor is Curt Sampson's volume on the Masters, and Eubanks beats that one hands down.

Historia
From one of the truly preeminent historians of our time, this is a landmark book chronicling the French Revolution. Simon Schama deftly refutes the contemporary notion that the French Revolution represented an uprising of the oppressed poor against a decadent aristocracy and corrupt court. He argues instead that the revolution was born of a rift among the elite over the speed of progress toward modernity and science, social and economic change.

Would you consider the audio edition of Citizens to be better than the print version?
I certainly would not consider it better than print.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Frederick Davidson?
I probably wouldn't listen to another book by this reader. His accent is so thick that it sometimes muddies the performance.

Great material that is poorly read
Revisado: 06-17-13
What did you love best about TNT: It Rocks the Earth?
I thought that Bristol's main points about attitudes and beliefs affecting our external reality was very well thought out and interestingly presented.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator's proclivity towards mispronunciation of both common words and any word with a foreign root was so distracting that I almost didn't finish. That I did finish is a testimony to Claude Bristol, not Jason McCoy. I would rather have listened the automaton of Kindle rather than this.
