Historia
Sadie, a woman who thought her life was over, is suddenly transmigrated to a world both familiar and strange. In a land where shapeshifters make up the majority and women can pick men like fruit, Sadie must learn to adapt to their culture, and her new body, without losing herself in the process. With the help of a puma shifter, who rescues her from the cold wilderness, she is escorted to the queendom of Ghostpherein where having mates is not only the best way to stay safe, but also the law.

Whoa MY GOD
Revisado: 06-04-24
OMG, this story, Ghostpherein, baby, a BOOK!!
I listened to this book on a whim and it’s one of the best romantasy/shifter books I’ve read this year.
The storyline at the beginning is a bit of a slow burn, but once you start to actually come to terms with Sadie’s situation, and see the world through her eyes, it’s amazing.
I enjoyed the plots & the twists, when I saw that I was getting close to the end of the book, I just KNEW it couldn’t end there. I’m def looking forward to book 2.
Because what happens NEXT!!

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

My heart dropped
Revisado: 05-14-24
My heart sunk. All the way to the pits of hell.
Iron Flame took me on a ride, a deep, curvy, stomach dropping ride.
The way all of these emotions are just at the brim, I am shocked.
I'm just sitting here, crocheting, trying to figure out HOW the hell I'm supposed to wait for Onyx Storm.
Now, on to what I enjoyed, which was the whole book, but explained spoiler free. Violet, is stubborn. She irks me with her hard headedness. Andarna is just like Violet. Tairn is tired of everybody, he's like a little old man that sick of the world. Xaden, that man is trying in more ways than one. Cat? I don't like her. The rest of Fourth Wing, my heart. Mira, that man (iykyk) and just all of the choices they've had to make at this point.
Violet is smart as hell. Her mind works so damn well. Fourth Wing has been through so much.
Sheesh, my heart. I may update my review later, but I really just need a moment right now..
and my therapy bill!? Who is going to pay for that?

Dawn Oliver - daughter of theater royalty, talented in her own right, and, according to the internet...a complete and total fraud. All she wants is a fair chance to prove herself - no nepotism, no social media campaigns, no sponsors. Just pure talent, which she has in spades, if she can just get someone to believe in her. The way Patrick Bell does.

Thee Dawn Oliver
Revisado: 05-08-24
The “Dawn Fuckin’ Oliver”!!
OMG this book was short and sweet. I genuinely enjoyed the “Inevitable” series. Getting a beautiful take on Dawn & Patrick was just what I needed for this novella.
The spice level was a 4. The plot was good.
Both characters had growth and development and the story was addictive.
Now I need to double back and check to see if there’s anybody else that’s looking for love in this deck of books.
I enjoyed this pallet cleanse trilogy

Whew.
Revisado: 04-29-24
This book was a super slow burn. The first half of this book made me want to DNF. It got me really cringey and weird vs being a dark romance. It almost felt excessively forceful and odd.
The story starts to move along once they got “married” and Julian was moving forward with his plan. This is where the book redeems itself. Once the Yasmin & Julian start to blur the lines of this “sham marriage” it gets hard for both of them to pretend to NOT have feelings for the other.
I enjoyed reading their inner battles about loving each other. The understanding they had once they both started sharing their stories thoughts and feelings. And the spice!? 4.5
I enjoyed this way more than I was in the beginning. This was a 3.5

Plot twist galore
Revisado: 04-15-24
3.5
The plot twist on this book!! The beginning of this book is a super slow burn. The start if My Perfect Daughter was a bit boring but it eventually picked up.
Zoe has a crazy big heart - that and a huge obsession with making the wrong decision three or four times over, is maddening. The husband? A plot twist. The final chapter? a semi surprise.
It's def worth the read. If you want a little suspense razzle dazzle.

Did not disappoint
Revisado: 04-11-24
4.5 stars.
This is the first Frieda McFadden book I’ve ever read.. and the ride it took me on.
The way Slyvie and Victoria were depicted in this book upset me. It’s like “okay, Adam may be FINE but the red flags are dangerous, babe”. Sylvie’s discernment & all of the choices Victoria made that led them both to this point.
Now, the storyline!? The plot!? There were sooooo many times where I was audibly yelling at these characters. The way this was written, even giving us Victoria’s written POV, took this story and made it even greater.
I don’t want to spoil this book for anybody, but Goodness. Read it.
The plot twist had a plot twist. Sheesh.

It is said that the canal will be the greatest feat of engineering in history. But first, it must be built. For Francisco, a local fisherman who resents the foreign powers clamoring for a slice of his country, nothing is more upsetting than the decision of his son, Omar, to work as a digger in the excavation zone. But for Omar, whose upbringing was quiet and lonely, this job offers a chance to finally find connection.

Just WOW
Revisado: 04-08-24
The Great Divide is such a beautiful book.
I can’t even begin to express all of the emotions it carried me through. Just listening to different perspectives of all of the characters - the migrants, the Panamanians even the role of the Americans.
Praying that these characters are able to fulfill their goals and achievements. Hearing about their pain, triumphs and for some their demise.
The Great Divide touched a very special place in my heart. It gave me a vibrant depiction of what the migrants could have dealt with when they migrated to Panama to work. My great great grandfather migrated to Panama for work. He worked and helped build the Panama Canal. Instead of going back home, he stayed in Panama and lived in Rio Abajo with his family.
There was so much richness in this book. I would definitely read it and recommend it to anyone.

My darling little boy Albie adores playing at our new neighbours’ house. And after the terrible year we’ve had, I feel so lucky that we can start over in this perfect place, with new friends who treat Albie like the son they never had. He can’t stop talking about the tree house they’re building him, and the cookies they bake together. But as time passes, something starts to feel wrong. Why don’t they ever open the front door more than a crack? They told me they had no children so who does the small pink tricycle I saw in their hall belong to?

Lottie is paranoid but kind of right lol
Revisado: 02-27-24
This book was more of a 3.5 for me than a 4.
I def had higher expectations for this book, especially having read some of Slater's other novels, which I did enjoy.
I do not want to give much a way, so I won't say names or provide accidental spoilers:
There were a lot of areas in this book that really annoyed me. The character "building" made most of them, and even their son, unlikeable. However, once you get into the meat and potatoes you start to get more emotionally stimulated and the "thrill" comes in.
The plot twist, was definitely not one that I expected at the end. But it made for a good ending and made sticking it till the end of the story worth something.

My heart hurt for Maggie
Revisado: 02-27-24
Baby, this book had me audibly gasping and praying for different outcomes.
So many things happened in this book. Maggie was definitely a victim of circumstance. And she felt that at every turn she was doing what had to be done to either protect herself, her job or her son.
In the end. I just couldn’t even wrap my mind around the ending.
But it was soooo good. And I look forward to the rest of this series
