Love Max Lugavere’a passion for the subject of this book. Heartfelt and inspired by his mother’s disease, Max has studied in-depth about things that may help prevent this happening to others. A lot of good biological science and healthy lifestyle choices that can help us be our healthiest. Lugavere is also a wonderful narrater that keeps your interest throughout the entire book.

Historia
In Cracking the Aging Code, theoretical biologist Josh Mitteldorf and award-winning writer and ecological philosopher Dorion Sagan reveal that evolution and aging are even more complex and breathtaking than we originally thought. Using meticulous multidisciplinary science as well as reviewing the history of our understanding about evolution, this book makes the case that aging is not something that "just happens", nor is it the result of wear and tear or a genetic inevitability.

Fascinating!
Revisado: 12-20-21
I bought this book when I read a review that mentioned David Sinclair’s Lifespan, which is one of my top 2 favorite books. Cracking the Aging Code is full of fascinating hypotheses, theories, science and evolutionary biology. Did not want to miss a single sentence and in fact rewound many times to make sure I hadn’t missed a thing. Could have listened to 10 more hours of it.

In this captivating book, neuroscientist Shane O'Mara invites us to marvel at the benefits walking confers on our bodies and brains, and to appreciate the advantages of this uniquely human skill. From walking's evolutionary origins, traced back millions of years to life forms on the ocean floor, to new findings from cutting-edge research, he reveals how the brain and nervous system give us the ability to balance, weave through a crowded city, and run our "inner GPS" system.

The answers to these questions are right behind our eyes. The greatest technology we have ever discovered on our planet is the three-pound organ carried in the vault of the skull. This book is not simply about what the brain is; it is about what it does. The magic of the brain is not found in the parts it’s made of but in the way those parts unceasingly reweave themselves in an electric, living fabric.

I could listen to this book over and over again, and have done just that. Just a freeing and inspirational book. Makes you think about all the things that complicate your life that are detrimental to your health, robbing your happiness and are really just unnecessary. Go back to your primal roots and remember what it's like to be Wild.
