Best audible plus sci-fi book I have heard
Revisado: 12-21-24
It goes away at the end of the year for now. It is one of the best audible plus books I have listen too. Wild West for the space frontier is a great description.

Historia
Sherman Holmes has officially settled into his new city, and the World's Greatest Detective Agency has opened its doors. Now, the new duo must investigate a local "haunted" tourist site where the scares are going off-script and otherworldly interference is suspected.

I hope the author continues this series. Love Sherman and his antics. Great series for adults and it is good enough to listen with children.

I really enjoyed this book. Spins on old tales you know from childhood with an over arching plot. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Historia
In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

Listened to this based on a recommendation from a friend. Interesting an thought provoking story. Bernard’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me. I would still recommend even with that said.

Could not get into this book.
Revisado: 04-23-21
I got into Nicholas Sansbury Smith when Audible let you listen to the first four books of Hell Divers on Plus. Since then I have listen to several more of them, the Extinction cycle, and his Trackers series. This book to me was just really hard to get into. I would not judge his writing based on this book this is the worst one I have listened to out of well over ten. On a side note, if authors do see this review, if it were not for Audible Plus I probably would not have spent a credit on this writer originally. I don’t know how the authors get compensated when people listen to them on Plus. It has definitely expanded the number of books I have bought from authors that I probably would not have discovered otherwise.

I like dystopian/end of the world books. Maybe I have just read to many depressing or cutthroat end of the world novels, this hit the spot for what I currently needed.

The pieces were there just not used correctly.
Revisado: 12-04-20
As I feared a letdown. This is the reason I generally don’t read follow ups that come along way later. One example, I won’t read the second trilogy for Red Rising. I thought the book was still decent. It had some big flaws in the plot, however that could just be my opinion. Cline could have used plenty of the pieces he has in the book in different ways and it would have been way better.

Revisado: 11-25-20
I really enjoyed the first book he wrote. I think this book was just as good. I almost think Eskens should stop here with Joe’s story, although I want more books like it and would probably read more about Joe and Lila.

Not bad. Not 4.5 stars good.

Ending of both books in this series so far were abrupt. I like a couple of the concepts in the book. If the author wrote a satisfying ending I would have rated it higher.

Sounds like the narrator has dentures that are smacking
Revisado: 08-29-20
The book was good. It had a bunch of plot twists that I didn’t see until revealed. The thing that kept driving me nuts was the narration. It sounds like the narrator has dentures that are smacking during the book. It drove me nuts.
