If you could sum up The Fiery Heart in three words, what would they be?

Ugh, just three? Ok...try these:
Inhibition
Eddie <3
FINALLY!

What did you like best about this story?

Adrian is finally tearing down some emotional walls and taking himself more seriously, thanks to Sydney. Eddie finally gets some love after so many setbacks and rough spots in his life. It was nice to see Sydney finally start marching to the beat of her own drum and let go of the teachings that have been drilled into her for so long...not to mention she can make fire!

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't want to spoil happenings at the end...but its towards the end.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the "escape plan" moments between Sydney and Adrian. Those little personal touches make you not such much an outsider looking in, but a participant with secret inside jokes you actually share WITH them.

Any additional comments?

A lot of people have commented on the guy that narrates for Adrian. Let me explain something to all the bad reviewers who may not have thought this all the way through, and for future listeners who need good reasoning:

1. Adrian is not (or at least was never said to be in any of the books in VA or BL) British.

2. During our first encounter with Adrian in the audio books, he was given an American accent. Later on he was given a British accent...why, who knows, but it worked at the time.

3. With the introduction of Neil in The Fiery Heart (who subsequently IS British), Emily could not very well continue with Adrian's British accent. As a reader, I would be waiting for Neil and Adrian to discuss where in the UK each other is from and possibly swap childhood stories.

4. I would guess that Emily was asked to give Adrian an American accent so as not to confuse readers with Neil. I would also venture a guess that Alden Ford was added as a narrator to add more "flavor" to Adrian's voice.

5. Alden, while he started out reading a bit quick, eventually paced himself out and I think did a fine job of handling Adrian's quirkiness.

Give the guy a chance...he really does grow on you. I have listened to Vampire Academy and the Bloodlines series as well as other series of Richelle's and can honestly say that the change up and Alden did not bother me in the least.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book, and already have to my blog readers! This was a surprising read and a nice change of pace from the "norm" in regards to vamp novels.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that the author actually put her characters through an emotional ringer. Everything isn't happy ending with flowers and confetti. Allie goes through some real struggles with accepting herself, accepting that she can't have the live she once had, and accept that things happen for a reason, even if you don't like the outcome.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't believe I have listened to any of her previous performances, but she did a fantastic job with this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Extreme? Yes. I laughed out loud a few times at work, I got emotionally caught up towards the end. I thought about the ending for several days afterwards. Could I have accepted what she did? I didn't cry, but I definitely felt compelled emotionally by the characters trials.

Any additional comments?

Download this book and listen to it, you won't be sorry. It is a gem of a find. Now I just have to wait patiently for the sequel!

What did you love best about The Golden Lily?

Finally we get a glimpse at Adrian in love again! Poor Sydney is so OCD about her life, she completely misses the signs that Adrian is developing feelings and more or less ignores her own feelings as well. I like that we get to revisit characters from The Vampire Academy series...Dimitri especially! I was also surprised at how much I came to care about Eddie's conflicted feelings surrounding Jill. It was hard to watch him watch Jill go out with Micah. And now we have a good plotline going with vampire hunters and hidden family secrets. I was a bit skeptical to start with this series, but it is really growing on me now. I am completely rooting for Adrian that he finally gets his happily ever after!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Golden Lily?

Adrian and Sydney at the very end of the book...I don't want to spoil it!

Have you listened to any of Emily Shaffer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, she was fantastic as Rose Hathaway's narrator in The Vampire Academy books. Her accents are great!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Jill finally decides to explore a relationship with Eddie, except Eddie has started to move on and finally date someone because he felt waiting for Jill was hopeless and ultimately the wrong thing to do. He is such a good-hearted and strong character. Oh and Adrian and Sydney...did I mention the end of the book? *giddy*

Any additional comments?

I can't wait to read the third book, and see what happens to everyone next. I like when things get complicated and you get to watch characters grow and evolve through things.

If you could sum up Rapture in three words, what would they be?

kinda drawn out

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rapture?

The most memorable moment was finding out how Lucinda and Daniel became cursed and who Lucinda was in love with before Daniel. I just wish it hadn't taken so many books to get there!

Which character – as performed by Justine Eyre – was your favorite?

It would be a toss up between Cam and Arriane. Cam is so bad boy trying to do good things, and Arriane is that wacky friend we all had in high school. Just loved them!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. The first half of the book was kind of slow to start. The last half picked up though and the ending had me holding my breath a little.

Any additional comments?

I really believe that this series could have been done in 3 books, but with that said...4 was ok too. At least you got a good look at Luce and Daniels past lives together and could see where they fell short of the mark everytime to bring them to the moment where everything finally comes together. Overall, I liked the series very much and loved that this book finally brought answers!

I absolutely adored this book! So much good character development and I literally held my breath at the end! I love an author that spends time making you really see their vision. This was a great followup to Maggie's Mercy Falls series. Thank you!

Would you listen to Pandemonium again? Why?

Yes, but I didn't think I would at first. The storyline surrounding Lena in the wilds after the loss of Alex at the fence in the first book felt overly detailed and kind of dragged in places. However, it was a lot of good character development when I look back on it now and a lot of setup for the

What other book might you compare Pandemonium to and why?

I would compare this book to Matched. The dystopian society's had close to the same ideals. Girl chooses to follow her own path instead of the plan that society has set for her.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite? There were a few that I don't want to spoil things by divulging. However, I felt the last hour or so of the book was probably the best.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

A big..

Any additional comments?

Definitely looking forward to the third book in this trilogy.

Better sense of the past

When I first started listening to this one, I thought it might drag a bit. But I found myself getting emotionally tied in with Daniel more in this book and I think that kept it from dragging for me. Passion gives a much better sense on just how tortured Daniel has been watching Luce die in front of him for 5000 years. You get a better grip on the pain, depression, determination, devotion, and love he has surrounding her. While the story was told from Luce's perspective, this book really was about Daniel in my opinion. I felt a little confused and not quite fulfilled at the ending, but it did leave a nice setup for book 4 (Rapture, out in 2012).

You can't grasp a love story that spans this far with just a simple explanation. You simply have to live it...with Passion.
