Really a young adult book
Revisado: 02-02-20
Lin-Manuel Miranda makes this book more interesting by his wonderful narration. However, the book is definitely for young adults and is a ":coming of age" saga. Very predictable and only a so so story.

Not my kind of story
Revisado: 01-27-20
Very confusing as to "who is who". One must be familiar with Greek mythology to enjoy this book. Couldn't force myself to finish it. Narration, however, was excellent.

So cruel and violent
Revisado: 03-26-19
This book was not for me. From the very beginning of the story of a dysfunctional family and their trials and tribulations, I felt the author enjoyed wallowing in detailed descriptions of violence and torture.

How this book gets the good reviews is beyond my understanding. I guess it's because the "Housewives of .... County" is also so popular. Just not my cup of tea!

should have been classified as a "teen book"
Revisado: 03-05-17
This is definitely a dog lover's book, sweet, (sometimes nauseatingly so), tender, sad, moving but very predictable. I am surprised it was a best seller because it was quite juvenile and would be appropriate for a teenager.

How Ideas Spread

Historia
What makes one novel a bestseller, while a similar work languishes unnoticed? Why are the same few baby names suddenly everywhere? Why is everyone talking about that viral video? Welcome to the science of social epidemics: the cutting-edge study of why some ideas, products, and concepts spread wildly, while others quickly flame out. Anyone who has something to sell, a cause to promote, or a message to spread knows that there are obstacles in creating a message that resonates, spreads, and sticks to make their product or idea the word on the street. Enormous sums of time and money have been spent trying to answer the question of why some ideas catch on. And not only is it an ever-present challenge for businesses, governments, and organizations, but it has long been a source of inquiry for psychologists, economists, and sociologists as well.

Narrator was soooo repetittive!
Revisado: 05-01-16
I thought I would really like this book, but the narrator was annoying and spoke in a sing-songy manner. Very elementary in concept and delivery.

Doesn't live up to ME BEFORE YOU
Revisado: 10-25-15
I was so looking forward to a continuation of Will and his family. AFTER YOU unfortunately can be categorized as chick lit. One crisis after another for poor Louisa and she keeps coming back for more. JoJo Moyes should have left her best seller alone because AFTER YOU doesn't hold a candle to ME BEFORE YOU.

Historia
Even from the perspective of time, it is nearly impossible to grasp the full contribution made to music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in his brief and glorious life. He composed his first symphony at the age of 8 and reached full artistic maturity by the time he was only 20. And when he died at the age of 35, he left a legacy of more than 600 works of brilliance - symphonies, chamber music, operas, and more - most composed during an incredibly productive 20-year period.

Mozart wonderful, Narrator horrible!
Revisado: 03-29-15
What a shame that such a marvelous composer would have his story told by such a supercilious and arrogant narrator. He is so patronizing that it totally spoiled the beautiful music that was interspersed throughout the book. I was going to order more books from different composers......but, alas, I did not!
