Historia
Many people dream of being at work or school only to realize that they are naked. For university student Danielle Keaton, this dream is about to become her reality. Facing the consequences of a severe lack of judgement, she is forced to make a choice: either give up her scholarships and her plan for graduating from college debt-free, or volunteer to be the test subject in a unique sociological study that will leave her naked and vulnerable to the entire university.

Amazing story and excellent performance!
Revisado: 11-27-23
The Volunteer is an exciting, racy story about a nightmare that turns out awesome. Who hasn't had the gone to school naked dream? The twists and turns of the plot are fun and a turn-on (my opinion). The narration of this tale was top notch! She REALLY made the anguish of her situation pour forth, and as the story became happier, you could hear it in her voice. As the character became turned on, her voice got sexy. I appreciate the visual details the author included, and the way the characters came alive through their dialog and interaction with others made this a well-rounded book. Definitely kept my attention throughout the entire book. I will be looking for other books by this author and hopefully more from this narrator!

She started at the sniper school and eventually became a valued member of her battalion during operations against Prussia. She persevered through eight months of training before leaving for the Front on 24th November 1944 just days after qualifying. Joining the third Belorussian Front her battalion endured rounds of German mortar as well as loudspeaker announcements beckoning them to come over to the German side.

The result of this Roger Daltrey's introspection is a remarkable memoir, instantly captivating, funny and frank, chock-full of well-earned wisdom and one-of-kind anecdotes from a raucous life that spans a tumultuous time of change in Britain and America. Born during the air bombing of London in 1944, Daltrey fought his way (literally) through school and poverty and began to assemble the band that would become The Who while working at a sheet metal factory in 1961.

Fascinating details about an incredible chain of events told by one who lived it. Educational and exciting. Lots of details, good advice, insights into the process of making a record, and the people who were creating the music.
I struggled to put it down for work or sleep.

Revisado: 06-24-20
I don't even recall what led me to listen to this book in the first place, but I am so glad that I did. I knew nothing about Dr.Feynman prior to hearing this book. He had a brilliant outlook and fascination with the physical, musical, and psychological worlds. I love his descriptions of how he thought his way through challenges, and then the results, good or bad, conclusive or otherwise. The narrator had a great voice and delivery that fit the words of Dr. Feynman, as though he actually WAS the person who thought those thoughts, said those words. It's not a book for everyone, but if you're interested in how a real genius observes a challenge and then step by step details his thought process- this book is quite fascinating, with or without any prior knowledge of the author. I wish I could have met Dr. Feynman. He would have been excellent conversation.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

I think the writing on this book was incredible. The details in the story and the scientific information and how it all went together really made for an exciting tale. I thought the near raider did an incredible job of creating characters with his voice and delivering excitement and emotion through the entire book. This was worth every penny!

In 1973, Captain & Tennille wrote and cut a record completely at their own expense. The product of that recording session, "The Way I Want to Touch You", proved to be a regional hit and was the first step in their fascinating journey to major label success. The couple sat down with host Wink Martindale just as their first hit was climbing the charts. In this captivating interview, they discuss how they got started in music, the creation of their first album, and their love of performing.

Since bursting onto the scene in the mid '70s, the pop duo Captain and Tennille have long defined the sparkling, optimistic idea of everlasting love, both in their music and through their image as a happy and, seemingly, unbreakable couple. They were an irresistible pair to millions of fans all over the world, further underscored by the rousing "yes, we can!" gospel of their biggest hit, "Love Will Keep Us Together".
