Historia
Crashing the chatterbox = Overpowering lies of insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement with the promises of God. “I used to think that someone who struggled with the kinds of weaknesses I deal with daily was useless to God. I felt so often like I was drowning in internal dialogue I couldn’t control. It had been the soundtrack of my life for as long as I could remember.

GOOD INSIGHT
Revisado: 06-27-21
Very articulate and thought provoking story. Great insight into the life and thoughts of a successful black male who happens to be gay and in an interracial relationship. While opinionated, it isn’t crass, insulting or demeaning. Very enjoyable.

EYE OPENING
Revisado: 06-18-21
This book really made me focus on the idea of anti-racism. While I don’t 100% agree with all the ideas contained within, there was more than enough content to challenge my ideologies and thoughts. Very thought provoking and well laid out. Highly recommend.

Very Telling Book
Revisado: 09-17-20
I really enjoyed the walk down memory lane and the insight into a family where transparency in an anathema. While it’s a harsh critique of the 45 president, much of what is laid out in the book can be validated by real world antics and unprecedented performance by President Trump. Try to keep an open mind.

ENTIRELY MOTIVATING AND CHALLENGING
Revisado: 02-08-20
What I loved about this story is that I realized that both David Goggins and I were in the Navy at the same time period and stationed in San Diego at the same time. He knew people I personally knew and this made this book come alive to me. I could relate to several of his stories and I appreciated his grit, but more importantly I appreciate the fact that he said he wasn’t a hero and shouldn’t be looked as if he were. The power that he possesses is ingrained within all of us and he simply had the courage to go after it. Truly life touching book/story. Loved the unique presentation.

Loved the Story
Revisado: 04-06-19
Hearing the story in First Lady Michelle’s voice brought a unique genuineness to the story. It brought the story alive. I was able to walk through the years with her from youth to out of the White House and I felt each step. Her power is under control, but nevertheless present. There will never be a family to inhabit the White House like the Obamas did. There may be other black first families in our nation, but there will never be another first black family. Very inspiring story.
