Mark Steyn delivers brilliantly witty political analysis, laugh-out-loud funny comments and original observations and criticisms that always hit the mark. I never ever disagree with him, and I always find him funny and entertaining. His narration is priceless, superb. I also enjoy Ann Coulter's writing and narration of her books, but Mark Steyn is a cut above - he is a writer, thinker and comic wit for the ages. He will be quoted in a hundred years like we quote Disraeli, Benchley or Shaw now. Too bad those 19th century wits could not narrate their works for Audible!

Classic running bit - Trump's "lack of specifics"

With her humorously impassioned advocacy of Trump for President, Coulter declares herself foursquare a Trumpist, and then goes on to explain why Trumpism is exactly what our country needs now to arrest our slide into Third World Hellholism. A particularly funny and devastating running bit is the mindless chanting by mainstream pundits that, first, Trump's primacy in the polls would be punctured after the first real primary vote, and when that prediction failed, that Trump would never secure the Republican nomination, and, when he did, that he would never be elected President and when he did that the Russians stole the election for Trump because only Russia's brilliant cybernetics experts had the algorithmic might to hack Podesta's password (which was "password"). Another of Coulter's running bits is to contrast that other mindless mantra of the talking head set, that Trump's agenda "lacks specifics", with the most specific, detailed and fearlessly targeted set of campaign promises and proposals of any candidate since Andrew Jackson. This book is cheerful throughout, as Coulter gleefully defends and promotes her political hero, taking his back while wearing a full set of armor, like a flame-retardant Joan of Arc in the service of the Trumpist cause. Highly recommended.

Brilliant sarcasm deflates foolish pomposity

Ann Coulter's mercilessly evocative designation of Katie Couric as "the Eva Braun of morning television" was as apt a thumbnail epitaph as Couric is likely to inspire. Couric should have feigned cheerful outrage at her new avatar, while taking every back-handed measure to ensure that it stuck, on the principle that it is better to be famous for having an offensively funny nickname than not to be famous. An appropriate response might have been for Couric to smilingly compliment Coulter's full-throated and biting sarcasm, thus further chilling the cycle of obscurely nasty innuendo which, we all know, is best served cold. Coulter's last chapter has her delivering a witheringly hilarious rapid-fire standup comedy routine, attacking all of her adversaries, ranging from simple-minded liberals to jealously less-successful conservative pundits, who turn out to be her main opposition. Coulter's political drone strikes are launched with all of their usual laser-guided precision, but, in this book, her collateral humor seems to be an order of magnitude more devastating. In other words, I laughed out loud for hours listening to this audiobook. My highest recommendation.

Woody Allen is the funniest human in history!

"The next day, I contemplated suicide again - this time, by inhaling next to an insurance salesman." Woody Allen is the funniest writer in history, which is well documented in these collections of humorous essays. He was also a hilarious stand-up comedian and comic actor, talents which make him the greatest narrator imaginable for his own writings. These audio books are a non-stop laugh fest. This collection is priceless - funnier than you can imagine. Grab it - it's worth its weight in laughs.
"How wrong Emily Dickinson was. Hope is not 'the thing with feathers'. 'The thing with feathers' turns out to be my nephew. Must bring him to see a specialist."

Don't miss Professor Savage's riveting seminar

If you could sum up Government Zero in three words, what would they be?

Borders, language, culture is Dr. Savage's prescription for healing our very sick nation. He provides astounding examples of how the current regime repeatedly violates the will of the electorate and the Constitution itself in their quest to "fundamentally transform" our nation. If you are one of the beleagered few still holding out against being transformed, this book is the survival manual for your freedom and your sanity.

What other book might you compare Government Zero to and why?

When I was young, I remember feeling lucky to have been born in America when I read 1984, The Gulag Archipeligo, Escape from Auschwitz, and other dystopias, either real or imagined. Well, guess what? Our luck is running out. In this world, trouble will come to you if you leave the door open even a crack, and our Transformer-In-Chief has taken the door off its hinges and fed it into the wood chipper. The warriors outside have very sharp knives, they want in, and they want to cut off our heads. Savage's message is that the danger is real, but there might still be a chance to salvage our way of life, if we act now.

Which scene was your favorite?

By "favorite", I assume you mean "least favorite" because we are talking about the ruin of the great nation which we were brought up in by our parents. While the individual examples of corruption and mismanagement by our rulers might be written off as merely due to their greed and stupidity, the overall picture is unmistakenly that of an intentional effort to wreck the society which has been so good to all of us, especially them. Don't they realize that the future they are allowing to materialize will be the antithesis of any definition of liberal, and will be even worse for atheist free-thinking leftist pot-smoking sexual libertines than it will be for normal people?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Professor Savage's books are so packed with important knowledge and wisdom, and his tale unfolds in such a gripping manner, that you better plan on listening to it a few times straight through. I sleep with it playing on my stereo. The narrator is great, but I sure wish Dr. Savage would release a version with himself narrating!

Would you listen to Stop the Coming Civil War again? Why?

Yes. I listened three times straight through. This book is filled with shocking information, and each time I re-listened to it, I learned more. Fascinating analysis of the abuse of power.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Stop the Coming Civil War?

The true story of the horrifying Benghazi tragedy, in which the commander in chief slept soundly while our embassy was overrun and our military was told to stand down and not rescue the heroic American soldiers who were holding off the murderous mob.

Which character – as performed by Barry Baer – was your favorite?

At first, I was disappointed that this audio book was not recited by Michael Savage himself, but the actor was quite good, although I would still like to hear Savage narrate it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Extreme anxiety because this book exposes how bad things are and how close we are to a disastrous end to our nation. If this message is ignored, we are heading for a beheading.

Any additional comments?

Do not go gentle into that good night....
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
