The Manipulator. I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me. I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The Shadow. I didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away. I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.

One of the most preposterous, stupid books EVER.
Revisado: 01-16-23
This was by far one of the stupidest books I've ever read. The author is trying so hard to be edgy and just sounds like someone who has some sick fantasies. She needs to get out more. There's not a stalking victim out there who would be turned on by this misyoganist weirdo. Had she any actual life experience she'd understand this. It's not edgy, it's bizzare ideation. Why would some sicko want to make a innocent woman feel fear and torture, but have all this empathy for the other victims of trafficking? It makes absolutely no sense that he's trying to woo her with threats and putting severed hands on her doorstep yet he cares so much if one of the trafficked girls see any blood. Then Addie is getting off on the whole situation, there's not a stalking victim on the planet with this reaction. Oh, and she runs around with a kitchen knife while living in the state of Washington which is a conceal carry state thinking she's going to stab this dude who has murdered her big one night stand criminal boyfriend and has cut his hands off. Any normal person would be looking into going to the range and getting a weapon since the cops seem unable or willing to help. It's so mind numbingly preposterous I don't even remember if she calls the cops to report the severed hands. If she did, I guess the event didn't make it to the 7 PM news. Nothing adds up in this silly book. I've quit halfway thru, life is too short for purient, garbage. The woman reading the book is decent, the guy just sounds like he's trying to sound like a thug from the Bronx or something. His overacting is repulsive sounding, not sexy. I'm definately going to ask for a refund which is a rarity for me. Don't waste you're hard earned money on this dribble.

Cringeworthy sex scenes that are plain gross.
Revisado: 10-29-22
Author has a knack for Character development. Then she destroys the entire book with her repulsive , boring and constant unessesary sex scenes that are anything but sexy. As soon as she starts, I skip ahead until it's over. It's too bad she thinks it's a positive for her books.

Historia
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...especially a dead one holding a grudge. Back on Deadwood's list of usual suspects, Violet Parker is hip deep in wild frights and fired-up females. After juggling bitter threats, haunted buildings, and vengeful ghosts, the last thing she needs is a pair of bullheaded detectives trying to pin another murder on her tail. Can Violet find the real killer before she ends up behind bars? Or worse, on a slab at the morgue.

More gross cringy gratutitous sex scenes
Revisado: 01-14-22
The books have become preposterous. The sex scenes are unessesarily long and grossly detailed. Violet is a compulsive liar and her kids are sulky obnoxious brats. I'm pretty much done with the series.

Historia
Sailors trusted him with their money and their lives. That was a mistake. The lucky ones woke up with headaches in the holds of ships headed to China. The others never took another breath. Billy Gohl robbed, shanghaied, and killed sailors across the Pacific Northwest. Grays Harbor in Aberdeen, Washington, was so full of bodies that newspapers dubbed it a "floaters fleet". His trapdoor of death was famous. In his time, Gohl murdered over 100 people, making him one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.

Great short history.
Revisado: 04-22-21
I've passed the sign to go to Aberdeen numerous times on my trips to Washington. Never stopped. Now I think I'll go check it out as the author really inspired me by this true crime history to see the town for myself. Just proves the good old days weren't always so good.

Historia
Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Fun & kinda scary mystery
Revisado: 04-22-21
I loved the story. The only thing was that the narrator made the character sound constantly pissed even when a sentence didn't call for it. Otherwise, what started out as a ghost story becomes a kinda scary mystery with some good plot twists. I really enjoy Riley Sager's books, and this one is her best so far.

Getting snowed in at a luxurious, rustic ski chalet high in the French Alps doesn’t sound like the worst problem in the world. Especially when there’s a breathtaking vista, a full-service chef and housekeeper, a cozy fire to keep you warm, and others to keep you company. Unless that company happens to be eight coworkers…each with something to gain, something to lose, and something to hide.

Historia
A wonderfully quirky, heartbreaking, heart-warming, and thought-provoking story of a woman's dog who not only talks to her, he talks to God. Recently widowed Mary Fassler has no choice except to believe Rufus, the miniature schnauzer, who claims to speak to the Divine. The question is: Will Mary follow the dog's advice and leave everything she knows and loves? Is this at the urging of God? Or is it something else? Will Mary risk it all or ignore the urgings of her own heart?
