Be an author not a commentator
Revisado: 05-22-22
My enjoyment of Connelly books is for an easy listen story with twists and turns, an escape from the everyday division of today’s political life. To my disappointment in chapter 45 Mickey leaves the world of an author and becomes a commentator expressing to the listener his political views. He characterizes one juror as a right wing religious conservative Christian for attending a Christian University, blind allegiance because he supported Trump, probably listened to Fox not CNN the network that supports impeachment and ousted the President as a liar. Personally, I do not care if you like Trump, Clinton, Biden, Obama, listen to Fox, CNN, NBC, ABC, or other Networks but those commentaries do not belong in your novels. Mr. Connelly, stick to being a successful author and not a commentator. I’ll be returning the book and requesting my credit back.

Disappointed
Revisado: 08-14-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A total rewrite. This is definitely not a Grisham style book I enjoy
What could John Grisham have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Not publish it. Sorry but this book never came to a Grisham book expectation. Plot, characters, and ending was very disappointing.
Have you listened to any of January LaVoy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Excellent narrator tried to make book sound interesting. She had very little to work with.
What character would you cut from Camino Island?
Not sure any characters were deserving of having a role.
Any additional comments?
This book is boring with little to no plot. Very disappointed in story, characters, plot and ending.

Historia
James Patterson's scariest, sexiest stand-alone thriller since The Quickie. Ben isn't like most people. Unable to control his racing thoughts, he's a man consumed by his obsessions: movies, motorcycles, presidential trivia - and Diana Hotchkiss, a beautiful woman Ben knows he can never have. When Diana is found dead outside her apartment, Ben's infatuation drives him on a hunt to find out what happened to the love of his life.

Torture
Revisado: 08-22-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
In my opinion I could not recommend this book to anyone.
What was most disappointing about James Patterson and David Ellis ’s story?
The book is long and slow moving. Narration is whiny and annoying. Too many references to the Presidents (over and over), movie characters and other non relevant topics. Waterboarding at Gitmo would be less painful.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Awful narration. What’s with the sound effects, even if I could put up with the squeaking door but police sirens, car horns, and squealing brakes? I listen to audiobooks while driving. Is anyone thinking?
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Frustration and hope that it would end. If I had another book I would have never finished it.

Good Story - Overkill on the romance
Revisado: 06-25-13
Would you try another book from Rita Henuber and/or Gabra Zackman?
The book has some very exciting scenes when involved in the action and thrill of infiltrating the drug lords. On the other hand, after the first romance scene which was way drawn out we got the point. Wound up fast forwarding the other.... 30% of the book. Played like a rerun
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mouse, Olivia, and Rico were all good characters with proper coverage
How did the narrator detract from the book?
excellent narration
What would have made this romance irresistible?
shorten it
