Historia
It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at the video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever.

The negative vindictiveness
Revisado: 01-03-24
Not my cup of tea, I know the world is full of vindictive characters, This put them front and center and delivered it with awful narration that seemed to scream,

Distracted
Revisado: 07-11-21
The story line was good but there was too much extra fluff, seemed to me that it moved to slow.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

Recognized family
Revisado: 10-10-20
This was eye opener for me, helped me understand my children's father. He grew up in similar situations and became a recovering alcoholic in later years. Our marriage sadly didn't survive because I was to young to understand why he was the way he was, let alone help him adjust.

Late one night, exploring her father's library, a young woman finds an ancient book and a cache of yellowing letters. The letters are all addressed to "My dear and unfortunate successor", and they plunge her into a world she never dreamed of: a labyrinth where the secrets of her father's past and her mother's mysterious fate connect to an inconceivable evil hidden in the depths of history.
