Lots of meaningless profanity and fragments. Not horrible. Not great. And audible requires 5 more words.

What’s wrong with this woman?
Revisado: 10-27-19
I would have returned this, but I waited too long. The narration was annoying, but the characters were the real problem. First, what’s so great about this woman that 4 guys are going to such extremes to be with her? And why does she choose the guy who stalks her and bullies her? She’s cringingly basic.

Every time I try to turn it off...
I come back for more! There are certainly problems with the Matthew Corbett series: the title character is a little too lucky, the narrative has a bit too much bloat, coincidences are a little too common, the violence is a little too gratuitous. And yet, I keep listening and keep wondering what will happen next. McCammon has me hooked, and I will read everything in the series.

Not exactly a children's story, but a great listen
Revisado: 11-30-14
If you could sum up Coraline in three words, what would they be?
Dark, alluring, entertaining.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Coraline, of course!
What about Neil Gaiman’s performance did you like?
Gaiman's performance made the book. I would have loved the book anyway, but he reads line and dialogue in a way that never would have occurred to me!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yep--I think I actually did!

Incredibly enjoyable!
Revisado: 11-30-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This was a bit bluer than I would have liked, but if the point of a memoir is to say what's on your mind then I can't really complain.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Amy Poehler is clearly intelligent and a reader. I loved that she talked about books she's enjoyed. The least interesting portion was her discussion of porn.
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
No characters, but I loved the Seth Meyers and Mike Shur chapters.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I'd watch pretty much anything with Amy Poehler in it!
Any additional comments?
Light, enjoyable, personable. Makes me want to know more about her.

OMGoodness, this woman's voice is annoying.
Revisado: 11-30-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not especially--listened while doing housework, so I didn't really waste time.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Meh--predictable.
Would you be willing to try another one of Shirl Rae and Nelson Hobbs ’s performances?
Maybe Nelson Hobbs, but NEVER Shirl Rae. Nasal, whiny, super annoying.
Could you see Broken being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
This would make a great Lifetime movie for whatever that's worth...

What did you like best about Heat Wave? What did you like least?
Decent story; very little depth.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Meh.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Johnny Heller?
Maybe. I was aware the whole time that Heller was reading. With the best narrators, I don't feel like I'm being read to.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
This might actually make a better movie than book due to the lack of character development.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Truly Excellent
Revisado: 09-10-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend this book without reservation.
What did you like best about this story?
Death as the narrator.
What about Allan Corduner’s performance did you like?
Phrasing and German pronunciation.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed and cried. Even when Death tells you chapters ahead that tragedy will strike, Zusak's prose brings you to tears anyway.
Any additional comments?
Absolutely lovely.

Good but forgettable
Revisado: 03-01-14
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Interesting; kept me reading; good plot and characters.
Did Kate Rudd do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I didn't love the narration; something a bit childish about her voice that didn't do it for me.
Do you think Hidden needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Several books in the series, but I won't pay for them. I'd get them from the library, though.
