Comedic fantasy D&D

Heavy on the comedy! This group of comedic fantasy writers have adventures that I don't think they could dream up individually, but together make for a wonderfully hilarious RPG game. The authors stay true to their characters, which adds another great layer to this podcast, especially because you can tell the authors themselves really like each other, even if their characters don't always get along. Make sure you know where the back button is because you'll likely miss plenty from laughing at their misadventures!

another case for the world's greatest detective

Drew Hayes is a 1-click author for me and this second in the Sherman Holmes series was great! I liked that it mostly was about a local mystery, not anything to do with someone targeting Sherman because of his special abilities. It also explored Watson and Holmes' relatuonship/friendship and the evolution of it from subject and handler to more of friendship. And, it was an entertaining mystery to solve.

Princess Bride fans should definitely listen

Wow! The Princess Bride was already one of my favorite movies but Elwes' telling of the making of it enhanced the movie for me. The addition of other actors who had parts in the movie adding their memories was definitely the icing on the cake!

Hop on the 'Sconnie Bus for a really fun ride!

Great stories with lots of unexpected twists. The ending of book 3, Undead Cheesehead, is one of the most unique ways I've ever heard to stop a zombie apocalypse. And the ways Herb contracts vampirism, Dallas contracts lycanthropy, and Stanley becomes a zombie are truly unique!
The narrator did a really good job with the different voices and pronouncing the unique Wisconsin names.

Another super story

I really enjoy Drew Hayes' books and Kyle McCarley does a great job narrating. I've often wondered about Titan's story and this sheds some light on it but introduces a whole cast of characters I enjoyed listening about.

Oh my! as a Minnesotan, I think this book is pretty good. That's awfully high praise. It's funny, and cute and I love all the characters. I think some of them might be my neighbors even! It's a quintessential Minnesota book and I loved it!

Not your typical Christmas story

I really liked the first book in this series and after listening to this one, I can't wait for the third one. Poor Bent is looking forward to a relaxing winter break from college but what does she expect when the 2 sides of her family have more animosity than the Hatfields and Mccoys?
