Historia
Acclaimed journalist, activist, and best-selling author Naomi Klein has spent two decades studying political shocks, climate change, and "brand bullies". From this unique perspective, she argues that Trump is not an aberration but a logical extension of the worst, most dangerous trends of the past half century - the very conditions that have unleashed a rising tide of white nationalism the world over. It is not enough, she tells us, to merely resist, to say no.

a Refreshing Counterpoint to Futility.
Revisado: 10-01-17
There's no surprise that Naomi Klein is an incredibly well researched and well spoken modern writer. With that this book answered alot of questions I was having about the current state of the American political landscape, namely "what can I do? and, Is there hope for real Progress?" the resounding answer of "yes, but it wont be easy" had the first real potent sense of potent optimism I'd heard in the months post Trump's election. Spelling it out in terms of what's going on and what matters going forward. its ability to fill me with equal parts dread and hope makes "No is not Enough" a truely motivating novel that will stick with me for years I'm sure. Though I would recommend that everyone read this book, I would especially urge that you pick it up if you don't feel politically inspired or feel as though your crippled by Shock politics. echoed throughout the pages you'll find the counterpoint to the futility of modern politics and it's infinitely refreshing.

Historia
Fiver could sense danger. Something terrible was going to happen to the warren; he felt sure of it. They had to leave immediately. So begins a long and perilous journey of survival for a small band of rabbits. As the rabbits skirt danger at every turn, we become acquainted with the band, its humorous characters, and its compelling culture, complete with its own folk history and mythos.

Timeless
Revisado: 03-30-17
In the preface, Richard Adams insists that this book doesn't stand as an allegory, that it's just rabbits doing rabbit things, and I can sort of see what he means. but this book stands as much more than a simple children's fable. the beautiful and vivid writing paints such a full and rich narrative and covers such a broad range of characters, each one unique and charmingly expressed. I found it hard not to project my own life and relationships onto the rabbits of the Downs. So, even though it's just rabbits doing rabbit things it evokes lot of very human situations. If I ever have kids I will personally read this book to them. though it will be hard to do it as well as Ralph Cosham.

Historia
In the small coastal city of Oran, Algeria, rats begin rising up from the filth, only to die as bloody heaps in the streets. Shortly after, an outbreak of the bubonic plague erupts and envelops the human population. Albert Camus' The Plague is a brilliant and haunting rendering of human perseverance and futility in the face of a relentless terror born of nature.

The writing of Camus has always been an inspiration for me and it was only made better by James Jenner's calm clear reading
