From their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 to D-Day and victory, Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company, which kept getting the tough assignments. Easy Company was responsible for everything from parachuting into France early D-Day morning to the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. In the summer of 1846, the Army of the West marched through Santa Fe, en route to invade and occupy the Western territories claimed by Mexico. Fueled by the new ideology of “Manifest Destiny,” this land grab would lead to a decades-long battle between the United States and the Navajos, the fiercely resistant rulers of a huge swath of mountainous desert wilderness.

Another time in place review
Revisado: 02-13-21
I thoroughly was engrossed in this book. I thought it was done extremely well and I didn’t want to stop at any time listening to it.
The way the author described every part of the scenes he was in was just exciting and yet very sad.
I felt I was in every scene pictured every place that he flew and the love that he shared for his girlfriend.
I would highly recommend this very well done book.

I step back in our history that Americans don’t know very much about.
Revisado: 06-14-20
Didn’t know a lot about any of the camps just said there were starving people and the atrocities I did not realize were so horrendous, until I start reading this wonderful book. How people survive the camps is extraordinary. Still hard for me to believe that people pick up the pieces in their life and continued a wonderful life after the camps. I guess you can say compassion and love are the key to existence.
I very much enjoyed this book.
