Let us start with the obvious question: did Ms. Barbra Stresiand really need to put down her life's story into nearly a thousand pages and 48 hours of recording? the answer is a resounding YES!
This biography has the same meticulous touch as any other project to come out of the hands and mouth of Barbra Stresiand - and with the same vivaciousness which cannot be discounted as the actress/director/producer/singer has been with us for a good while; not only is this a well-written biography, it is in many ways a recorded diary, full of thoughts and feelings - and a great addition to her amazing life's work.

A #FREE woman

There are a handful of those under the constant media eye who turned to autobiographies to give the account of their own lives, but few have stayed as understated as Britney's much-awaited tell-all. Michelle Williams acts as good as it can be stand-in for Britney and doesn't try to over-dramatise her narration; although I understand the reason for her decision for not doing the narration herself, I do wish the prologue was just that bit longer. We love you Britney, you deserve your freedom.

The endless wonder of being Joe Goldberg?

At this point in time, we are in the 4th installment of "You", and along with the Netflix semi-adaptation, it would be impossible for the readers to not join Joe for one more ride; or rather, we've come such a long way together to not know who we are truly dealing with. This does not come in handy when the actual book decides to point out on numerous occasions the obvious, albeit at the hands and mouths of characters who genuinely are kind of terrible themselves, telling Joe that as a matter of fact he is not the best of writers. But the irony in that, which had worked for the series, writers itself this 4th time around (even for the die-hard fans/Joe-apologists) as too predictable. Maybe it's time to spice things up.

As for the version of the audiobook: it masterfully elevates the shortcomings of the text by the narration and acting done entirely by Santino Fontana. who not only reprises as the OG Joe, but also continues to give life to the plethora of people who may or may not live to tell that they have met him.

A cute "spin-off"

Both lead actors respectively, as does the rest of the cast, do a fine job of fleshing out the dialogue and atmosphere despite this being an audio production. Storywise, it does its best to keep within the universe of P&P, with the original perspective on the titular Mr. Darcy which adds a nice modern twist.

Audio Supreme to book

Despite Richard Ayoade correcting the listeners several times that this was meant to be read originally, I find it adds a layer of humor that would be otherwise lost when delivered by the signature tone we all know and love, and decidedly led us to purchase this book of Mr Ayoade (with the added bonus of special guest performance by Jessie Eisenberg as his agent ).

What a great autobiography/collection of essays by Seth Rogen!
Funny, with a great cast of actor friends helming this 5-ish hour ride along with Rogen himself.

Do you like to watch films sarcastically?
Do you love commentary while watching said films yet often find you need to do other things?
And most importantly - are you familiar with Mr. Ayoade's former work - both in front and behind the camera?
If yes - then you need to convincing.
If No - then enjoy.
