How do you perceive freedom? What enslaves you? You are free to read, listen and wonder about anything. This story invites you to see, hear, imagine and think. I suggest you listen because the voice speaking the exquisite choice of words written by Percival Everette invites you on a journey you didn’t know you needed to take.

People are flawed. People can help each other. Be flawed and be a helper. Thank you for writing this book.

This courageous, historical fiction was based on facts, things that happened to people that needed, as well as need, to be told, read and/or heard.
I wore a POW bracelet while in my teens - it had a man’s name on it. I thought about that man, his family and his mother and father; although I had not a speck of the magnitude of pain they were individually or collectively feeling.
Thanks be to our Higher Power for the people who helped the Vietnam Veterans by listening, making them feel safe, by spending time with them, by building the Memorial wall, by writing & publishing their important stories and by recognizing their service with gratitude.
Thank a Vet. Visit a Veteran’s home. Tell them they made a difference to the meaning of Americans who stand with each other. Ask them what they think their fellow Vets need.

To the narrator, even in the military, corps is pronounced “core”. Your reading of The Women allowed me to imagine the main character sharing her story with me. You made her and many other characters come to life in this audiobook.

The point of view of the narrator carries great weight and deep value within the story that is told. Mitch Albom writes and narrates a deeply powerful story that is based on TRUE events both historical and frighteningly unbelievable human. The truth must be heard and lived to the best of each person’s ability. And when a person thinks they have given their all, they need to bolster courage from themself and other true believers to act, speak and live the truth.

The practical knowledge is presented in a straightforward, honest, humorous and genuine way; and the language might be too rough for some people. I believe the author was/is trying to appeal to a wide audience and I wasn’t surprised by the cursing; F**k is in the title. The author cares about people and helping them any way she is able; this book is a selfless way to reach people who personally experienced trauma, or know/love someone who did. As my dad says, “Life is hard yard by yard. Life’s a cinch, inch by inch.” You’re not alone nor are you meant to be and the no nonsense info in this book is the nudge someone might need to want to keep living.

It is refreshing to listen to a person's life story, who is comfortable in her own skin. At times, there is a feeling that Penny Marshall is visiting with you, like a friend you haven't seen for awhile and you bumped into on the street. Her humorous, generous and easy going personality reflect her appreciation for the relationships in her life.
