A mesmerizing story full of rich characters set against the backdrop of Appalachian Kentucky. This is a story rich in history as Tig must peel back the layers of her own family learning more about her grandfather, a celrbrated wR vetersn thst dhe bever knew. And at the same time, coming to grips with her own tragedy.. Beautiful book about the choices women must make and a story of the strength that comes from women who understand their pain and provide a haven for abused women.

This was a fantastic book one that I would read again. It has so many layers with characters development .. It’s a lot of story on some of the different levels, but not essential food. Take the time to listen to or read it. I think it would make another great film.

I Loved the setting of this book. I have traveled to the Outer Banks and this part of North Carolina many times. This is a beautiful story about a mother’s love for her daughter. And her daughters grief when her father dies. It is a love story on so many levels. The mother is still grieving over losing her mother when she was eight years old and now she is losing her eyesight and falling in love with a man who has his own memories haunting him. This book is very heartwarming and is beautifully written

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Loved the format if this book. A cold murder case..exciting thriller.. with intricate characters, all brought to life so well in this audible edition of this book. I would even listen to this book again because I think there’s a couple of layers I missed. An intriguing insight into this old murder case by inserting a podcast where the journalist is interviewing all the characters and weaving the story together, as he helps to uncover what really happened five years ago. One of the best books I’ve listened to this year!

Poignant and mesmerizing story
Revisado: 06-02-24
I was in high school during most of the Vietnam war. I remember the headlines I remember the newscast I remember Walter Kike. But I truly never understood what American men and women faced in Vietnam and how they were treated when they came. I knew this book would be a great book, but one difficult for me to read. it is a story that has long been untold and for me and it really opened my eyes to the brave lives and the difficulties these American women faced in Vietnam. It is graphic, romantic, dramatic, thrilling, and it will definitely make you cry. But it was so worth the read! Thank you Kristen Hannah , one of my favorite authors, for bringing this story to life. This is an unforgettable book. , and One I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Colette “Coco” Weber has relocated to her Catalina Island home, where, twenty years before, she was the sole survivor of a deadly home invasion. All Coco wants is to see her aunt Gwen, get as far away from her ex as possible, and get back to her craft—writing obituaries. But as Coco learns more about these deaths, she quickly realizes that the circumstances surrounding them are remarkably similar....

Coukd not stop listening to this book?
Revisado: 03-29-24
This is a story that will stay with me for a very long time. Beautiful character development with intricate layers. having been to Catalina Island, I could picture the story unfolding. And to position it during the early days of Covid added more intrigue. Collette Weber was the sole survivor of A murderous attack that killed her family. She returns to the island over 20 years later to escape a failed marriage and care for her elderly aunt. But what she uncovers there is pure evil. This is not a scary book but rather an intricate murder mystery. Elderly women with multi million dollar homes are dying.. and not of natural causes. I can’t wait to read more books by this author, this particular book would make it great film!

Sweet but complicated characters
Revisado: 03-03-24
Interesting storyline. Very good character development. A beautiful story of love and how our lives are shaped forever by everyone we meet on our journey. I loved that there was no steamy sex and no bad language. Proving that a good story does not need the raw details Bur rather the exploration of one’s own self and an understanding of others emtions emotions. And to realize that our history does not have to define who we think we are. We are so much more .

Having no knowledge at all of hockey, I approach this book with some trepidation. The character development, storyline, the narration, is simply mesmerizing. I love this author, he does such a wonderful job with character development. I will remember this novels for many years to come. It just has that effect. I think I would like to read the book so I can take my time ..there’s so many wonderful passages.
