Historia
Dr. Margaret Richter has it all. She’s rich, thanks to her best-selling self-help books. She has a beautiful home in Cape Cod overlooking the beach. And she has a monthly book club that everyone is dying to get invited to. Literally. Because behind the crystal wine glasses, the fine linens and the catered hors d'oeuvres lies a tangled web of secrets, of deceit, of murder. No member of the book club is innocent—and many are guilty. And the person with the most to hide is Margaret Richter herself.

Excellence At Its Finest!!!!!
Revisado: 04-15-25
This is pure art! Couldn’t have asked for better! I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. Of course Karin’s story was my favorite. The only story that fell a bit flat for me was the FBI story. Overall it was a fun twisted ride that I would recommend to everyone.

Excellent!

It was tragic. Well written and narrated. Chapter 10 threw me off for a bit until he started describing the psychology of the killer. Personally, I feel the victims should be the focal point of stories like these. Their voices should be the loudest on the page. Overall, this was an excellent read and I would recommend it.

For GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton, McAlpine Lodge seems like the ideal getaway to celebrate their honeymoon. Set on a gorgeous, off-the-grid mountaintop property, it’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. Until a bone-chilling scream cuts through the night. Mercy McAlpine, the manager of the Lodge, is dead. With a vicious storm raging and the one access road to the property washed out, the murderer must be someone on the mountain. Historia
Home alone with her young children during a blizzard, a mother tucks her son back into bed in the middle of the night. She hears a noise—old houses are always making some kind of noise. But this sound is disturbingly familiar: it’s the tread of footsteps, unusually heavy and slow, coming up the stairs. Shrouded in the shadows, she sees the figure of a man appear down the hallway. Terrified, she quietly wakes her children and hustles them into the oldest part of the house, a tiny, secret room concealed behind a wall.

Good narrator
Revisado: 03-24-24
Started out strong with some decent suspense. After a while fell flat for me. Became bored over time waiting for then interesting and suspenseful parts to kick back in. Over all a good story but felt dragged out unnecessarily long. Wanted more action and thrill. A bit too descriptive on things that didn’t really matter to me. The hospital scenes and convos with the police, backstory, etc, all could have been shortened to have more engagement with the actual threat.

I understand what the author was doing. But I can’t say that I liked it. It definitely leaves you wondering about the aftermath of the liar’s life. Which is good in my opinion. But wow, such a far way to go. Let’s just say the main character is trash lol.
