The story dragged on a bit on the middle, but the concept was very interesting and thoughtful.

Fun, interesting, thoughtful, engaging. I learned about a different world that exists right in my back yard. Also, a love story from the man's point of view.

Sweet and entertaining
Revisado: 09-25-21
I listened to the entire story in one day while packing my house to move. It kept me going! It was engaging but didn't use my brain too much, allowing me to concentrate on packing. The characters are likable. There are some good moral lessons.

Historia
Evan Michaels struggles with being different, with having the complete memories of two other people who lived sequentially before him. He fights loneliness and believes he is unique until he meets Poppy. She recognizes his struggle because she is like him, except that she is much older, remembering seven consecutive lives. But there is something else she must share with Evan - she is a member of the secretive Cognomina. They are, in effect, immortals - compiling experiences and skills over lifetimes into near superhuman abilities that they have used to drive history over centuries.

My new favorite book
Revisado: 09-12-21
It was exciting and very thought-provoking. I hope there's a sequel. I found myself feeling I was "in the story" when I was doing my daily chores, like my life is fake and the book reality .

Historia
In the predawn hours of March 4, 2002, just below the 10,000-foot peak of a mountain in eastern Afghanistan, a fierce battle raged. Outnumbered by Al Qaeda fighters, Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman and a handful of SEALs struggled to take the summit in a desperate bid to find a lost teammate. Chapman, leading the charge, was gravely wounded in the initial assault. Believing he was dead, his SEAL leader ordered a retreat. Chapman regained consciousness, alone with the enemy closing in on three sides, beginning the most difficult and exceptional fight of his life.

What a great man in terrible circumstances
Revisado: 03-25-21
It was very interesting, albeit a bit technical at times and a little hard to keep straight the various opetations teams in Afghanistan. But it didn't matter so much. I learmed all about CCT and their courage and bravery and perseverance.
This book and another I recently read, "The Great Influenza" by Barry, would give me pause about joining the military if I were younger, as some of the leaders don't seem very thoughtful, insightful, or intelligent; and their rash, blundering decisions have killed so many well-meaning, well-trained , and devoted soldiers. I'm actually surprised some of the details in this book were not kept classified, such as the methods of training and names of those in command who made the bad decisions,

The Psychopath Test is a fascinating journey through the minds of madness. Jon Ronson's exploration of a potential hoax being played on the world's top neurologists takes him, unexpectedly, into the heart of the madness industry. An influential psychologist who is convinced that many important CEOs and politicians are, in fact, psychopaths teaches Ronson how to spot these high-flying individuals by looking out for little telltale verbal and nonverbal clues.

Interesting and engaging
Revisado: 03-03-21
For starters, I really enjoyed listening to the author's voice and accent. His writing seemed fair and balanced to me. I learned a lot about this interesting subject. I will have to do an internet search to see if and how his thoughts on his thesis have changed over these past 10 years. Also, i believe I've heard about some genetic testing that reveals one's propensity for becoming a psycopath. I'd like to hear his analysis on that matter. .
