Historia
God Is Disappointed in You is for people who would like to read the Bible...if it would just cut to the chase. Stripped of its arcane language and interminable passages, every book of the Bible is condensed down to its core message, in no more than a few pages each. Written by Mark Russell with cartoons by New Yorker cartoonist Shannon Wheeler, God Is Disappointed in You is a frequently hilarious, often shocking, but always accurate retelling of the Bible, including the parts selectively left out by Sunday School teachers.

Hilarious, smart, & well-performed.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have recommended this book to everyone since reading. The writing seems both heavy-handed and even-handed. This made the book a zinger. Sharp minds at the end of the pens there. LOL did happen during listening.
What about James Urbaniak’s performance did you like?
I liked the performers range of character voices, and use of "pause" for comedic timing. He read the meaning, not just the letter, of the book.

Historia
Mark Russell & Shannon Wheeler's faithful yet irreverent approach to the Bible made their book God Is Disappointed in You a modern cult classic. Now, by popular demand, they turn their attention to the best parts left out of the canonical Bible, including the Midrash, the Apocrypha, Gnostic Gospels, and more! And if you thought the Bible had some weird stuff in it....

Awesome book. Finish trilogy...? Pretty please.
Revisado: 08-29-16
If you could sum up Apocrypha Now in three words, what would they be?
The inclusion (or follow-up) with the Gnostic texts is excellent.
Very contemporary. Well written & performed.
To Authors / illustrator: Can you finish the trilogy, pretty please? Pick a date. Maybe 600 CE. It’s nice and round. Go from there.
It’s sad that I learned more about religion from your book than any other source. Feel “happy with yourselves”, you earned it. Could you please continue the trilogy. Pretty please.
Which character – as performed by James Urbaniak – was your favorite?
James has a great range of character voices. Also liked his use of "pause" to express the meaning, not just the letter, of the book.

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

A classic, in audio.

A mind opener and well narrated. I don't think I would have read this in print. The title would have lingered on my shelve, cover and binder un-wrinkled. Very happy to find it hear on Audible.
The narrator does a good job with the material, too.

Historia
To become a Dark Lord is no easy thing. The simple ambition to hold dominion over the world and bend all to your will sounds straightforward, but it's not. There are armies to raise, fortresses to build, heroes to defeat, and battles to be fought. After many spectacular failures, Evil decided to lend more than inspiration to these would-be tyrants. He wrote an easy-to-follow Dark Lord's Handbook. And yet the next Dark Lord that came along screwed up like all the others.

Historia
Over the last four centuries, a small group of thinkers attempted to answer a series of remarkably challenging questions: In a world having a history of untold suffering-especially, it seemed, for Jews-was the existence of an all-powerful and comforting God still tenable? What were the purpose and meaning of Jewish practices and customs? Could Jews still justify the notion of a chosen people in a social climate in which Jewish integration and full participation with the rest of humanity had become the norm?

Insightful, deep, engagingly delivered.
Any additional comments?
I'm passing this book on to everyone I know who would be interested. They keep thanking me for turning them in to it. Its eye opening. Much praise to the author and lecturer.
