Love the book, question about Jason's staff.

Absolutely loved the new installation of this series. A completely different scenario, to keep the adventure fresh. Definitely can't wait for the next book, and my process of rereading this book to keep myself fresh and up to date for that novel. Real question with Jason's staff installation to his Lich body. If I'm imagining them right, I'm picturing mantis blades from Cyberpunk 2077. If so that's the most bada$$ way to incorporate video game lore into this already perfect series. Bravo, and thank you.

Greatly enjoyed this listen, however iit felt more like book 2.5 rather than 3. That being said, it was a fantastic listen. Nick Podehl nailed another great performance. Here's to hoping the next audio book comes soon.

As far as fantasy novels with sapient swords go, this one is the best so far. Andrews side quest novels feel in no way like a tacked on book just for sales. reads easily like a standalone novel.

I wanted to like this.

This book had a good start, interesting theme. There just wasn't good story writing here. I picked up this series because really enjoyed Tower of Heaven from this same author. I just couldn't finish it, made it about 3 hours in before having to quit. The narrator didn't help matters. Very poor delivery from him. I wouldn't recommend this, but I would recommend his other title Tower of Heaven.
