After countless appearances in other books, this was a nice little diversion into Fer’s life. No spoilers, but it’s great to see him get some happiness. Easily a nice little ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ listen.

Nico knows he’s difficult; he has the string of exes to prove it. But staying sharp was the only way to stay safe in the cutthroat world of modeling, and it turns out, graduate school isn’t any gentler. Career first. Boys…later. Jadon knows he’s burning out; his partner at the Metropolitan Police is more than happy to remind him of that fact. But the last time he let himself get distracted, people died, and he’s not going to let it happen again. And Nico was nothing but a distraction.

Loved Nico’s Story 🥰
Revisado: 02-07-25
Awww Mr. Ashe! This was a great story with a very good mystery as well. Nico is excited to attend a seminar which will propel his career. Right from the beginning there is an appearance from Emery and it’s pleasant to see how much he cares for the people around him, albeit in his cranky manner. Upon arrival, we are introduced to several characters, all unique in their own way that sheds light on the mystery as well. As there are a string of occurrences on the campus of the seminar, Jayden is the local detective assigned to the case. Jadon has his own circumstances which makes solving this case all more important. Throw in an appearance from North & Shaw and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to continue to cross characters from other series. This is a nice slow build up to Nico and Jayden’s ‘will they / won’t they’ and it’s worth the listen to see how it plays out.
The narration is top notch and I was pleasantly surprised by how well each voice was distinguishable. Overall, this is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ listen.

It’s not a real case, he’s not my boyfriend, and we aren’t partners. Three lies I told myself for survival. After ten months of shamefully stalking and showing up randomly on Tallus’s doorstep at midnight (for reasons), the sinfully hot records clerk decided he’d had enough of my games. In fact, he went out of his way to bring me the most ridiculous case (it was not a case) on the planet as an excuse to push me over the line (he wanted a date). Our arrangement (hooking up) didn’t suit him any longer. Could I say no? Of course not (this was Tallus).

Historia
Hardwicke House, home to Belverton College’s exclusive Minotaur Society, is no stranger to tragedy. And when a body turns up in the field next to the mansion, the scene looks chillingly familiar. Chicago PD sends hard-nosed Detective Harriet “Harri” Foster to investigate. The victim is Brice Collier, a wealthy Belverton student, whose billionaire father, Sebastian, owns Hardwicke and ranks as a major school benefactor. Sebastian also has ties to the mansion’s notorious past, when thirty years ago, hazing led to a student’s death in the very same field.

This is a great addition to the series! I’m loving this MC more with each book. The mystery is well paced and kept me guessing throughout. The underlying plot which also gets further explored from the previous two books also reaches another phase. Overall, the narrator is excellent; and it’s great to hear the MC voiced by a person of color as it truly brings her to life. This is a great listen and a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Decent listen
Revisado: 12-04-24
This book was a freebie so I figured I’d give it a listen. It took me a while to get into the plot but once I did, it was worth the listen. The narrator was good, and was able to distinguish between the characters and kept a nice cadence for each. Overall, some confusion with the two different stories which converged to give more clarity to the main plot, I’d still rate this book a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

"Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind." Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. It’s nearly Christmas, and Dashiell Dawson Dane already has enough on his plate: finding a present for his parents, coming up with excuses not to hang the Christmas lights, and finishing this stupid story he’s been writing (okay, maybe he needs to start writing it). On top of all that, Bobby has been acting…well, strange. The last thing Dash needs, in other words, is to play host when Marshall Crowe—celebrity author and, worse, a friend of Dash’s parents—comes to town.

Excellent Listen!
Revisado: 11-17-24
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Each one in the series gets better than the previous and are easy listens. The narration is great and Ashe writes a great story which allows the narration to sound believable. As always, the hallmarks of the series are intact: cakes, wonderful characters and a dead body. I enjoyed this over the course of a weekend and was sad when it ended but I’m looking forward to the next book already. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After several months (and a few murders), Dash is finally starting to feel at home in Hastings Rock. He’s enjoying the quiet after the end of tourist season, he’s comfortable at Hemlock House (the jury is still out on whether it’s haunted), and most importantly, he has friends.

Dash does it again!
Revisado: 10-31-24
This series just gets better and better. Dash has settled into his new normal but still has some things to work out. Mainly his feelings for a certain Police Deputy.
The mystery is definitely written and paced well. The other main characters are also showing a bit more depth; especially the one who doesn’t speak much! There is still an abundance of funny bits as well as lots of cake. I really enjoyed listening to this book after having previously reading the hard copy when it was released. I’m eagerly looking forward to listening to the next book in the series. Well done Mr. Ashe! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Revisado: 10-12-24
This was a surprise read for me as I don’t usually listen to certain types of mysteries. This had me from the sample and I gave it a try. I was fully engaged after the first chapter. The characters are interesting and at least fleshed out enough. The intermingled mysteries flowed well and I had no idea how the story would end up until the very end. I’d listen to this again down the road and I’m eagerly awaiting book 2. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
