Lame….
Revisado: 04-09-25
Could have been an OK story comma, but there’s no substance or depth of any kind. Almost like a long sex scene – meant to be breathing and full of desire, but comes across as cheesy and very shallow. Didn’t waste my time to finish!

Historia
A haunting dream that will not relent pulls author Kent Nerburn back into the hidden world of Native America, where dreams have meaning, animals are teachers, and the "old ones" still have powers beyond our understanding. In this moving narrative, we travel through the lands of the Lakota and the Ojibwe, where we encounter a strange little girl with an unnerving connection to the past, a forgotten asylum that history has tried to hide, and complex, unforgettable characters.

Historia
In the hills of Tennessee, Shane Carson, a gifted, nationally-recognized horseman, is living the good life. When a mysterious mustang shows up on his farm, Shane doesn't know how - or why - the horse appeared, but the horse's distinctive brand identifies her. She is one of the Spirit Horses, a rare, wild herd that runs free on the Shoshone reservation in Wyoming. Watched over for centuries in the tribe's ancestral valleys, these exquisite horses, according to belief, provide a link to the afterlife. When tragedy strikes in his life, Shane nearly loses his will to live - but for one promise he made to his young son: to return the mustang....

Historia
Life in Glory, Wyoming, population 51, isn't exactly exciting. The dusty old town isn't even on the map. And for rancher Luke McCallister, that's just fine. Broken by tragedy, the stoic cowboy spends his time at his 10 Bar Ranch or down at Ima Jane's Rimrock Bar, trying to avoid the gossip being served along with the food and drink. But the everyday quiet of his life is shattered when he finds a human skull - and possibly the key to Glory's oldest mystery.

Historia
Midwife Patience Murphy has a gift: a talent for escorting mothers through the challenges of bringing children into the world. Working in the hardscrabble conditions of Appalachia during the Depression, Patience takes the jobs that no one else wants, helping those most in need - and least likely to pay. She knows a successful midwifery practice must be built on a foundation of openness and trust - but the secrets Patience is keeping are far too intimate and fragile for her to ever let anyone in.

The story starts out as interesting, intriguing, and flows well. But it goes downhill and soon becomes pretty gross. I can see why it was free; I didn’t finish it.

Historia
Mark Rivers was a firefighter until he got trapped in a wildfire and suffered third-degree burns on his face and body. After a year of recovering, Mark is trying to piece his life back together but struggles both emotionally and psychologically. He's been a recluse until he forces himself to attend his niece's school play and sees Riley, the school's art teacher. Immediately, Mark feels a connection to her. Maybe it's the kind way she greets his niece or the way the art she created for the school play is reminiscent of his late mom's artwork.

So yes, it’s probably a little too predictable and over the top in places, but it’s cute and Christmasy and sweet and clean, but I quite enjoyed it. The narrator wasn’t my favorite, but was okay overall.

Heart wrenching story….
Revisado: 12-17-23
Heart wrenching story, well thought out, with believable characters. The story held my attention although the narrator was not very authentic sounding and tended to speak in a bit of a monotone voice at times. Still, it was worth the credit and I would recommend it.
