The best podcast ever.
Revisado: 12-04-22
I couldn’t stop listening; binge-listened all night. Even though I knew the outcome, the story was told in such a compelling way that I was spellbound. I learned quite a lot and felt almost like I knew the main “characters”. Dave Cawley is so professional and takes care with our feelings all the way through this heartbreaking podcast.

Historia
Dellarobia Turnbow is a restless farm wife who gave up her own plans when she accidentally became pregnant at 17. Now, after a decade of domestic disharmony on a failing farm, she encounters a shocking sight: a silent, forested valley filled with what looks like a lake of fire. She can only understand it as a cautionary miracle, but it sparks a raft of other explanations from scientists, religious leaders, and the media.

Extraordinary book!
Revisado: 03-28-16
Beautifully written, almost poetic in a down-to-earth way. Kingsolver's main character copes in a loveless marriage and finds herself and her true potential when butterflies and scientists come her way.
It's not predictable and manages to sympathetically handle the threatening end of a marriage and a species with intelligence, examining them from a number of different angles. I could see all the characters very clearly in my mind while I was reading (listening). The scene with the lamb's birth brought me to tears.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

A classic thriller

Gripping story with a few twists and turns, it held my interest all the way through.
I found it very easy to identify with the main character Rachael. The whole idea of watching other people's lives from a train is intriguing and I totally "got" it.
