Historia
When Marshall McEwan left his hometown at age 18, he vowed never to return. The trauma that drove him away ultimately spurred him to become one of the most successful journalists in Washington DC. But just as the political chaos in the nation’s capital lifts him to new heights, Marshall is forced to return home in spite of his boyhood vow. His father is dying, his mother is struggling to keep the family newspaper from failing, and the town is in the midst of an economic rebirth that might be built upon crimes that reach into the state capitol - and perhaps even to Washington.

Man up!
Revisado: 03-25-19
Some of the reviewers said they returned this book because of the Trump comments. They missed a treat. This book was excellent. If they had listened further his characters also made derisive comments about blacks, women, Christianity, Indians and more. There were also “good” characters too. I being at least 3 of the above was not offended. I enjoyed this book you will too if you aren’t easily offended by everything.

It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind. Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there. Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown.

Good Fairy Tale Story!
Revisado: 03-16-16
This was a great read. The reader's voice was too mature for the love scenes (awkward), other wise she did an excellent job.

Historia
Haylie Pomroy has helped thousands of clients lose up to 20 pounds in just four weeks - all through the fat-burning power of food. Hailed as "the metabolism guru", Haylie reminds us that food is not the enemy, it’s medicine needed to rev up your sluggish, broken-down metabolism and turn your body into a fat-burning furnace. On this plan you’re going to eat a lot. You’re going to eat three full meals and at least two snacks a day - and you’re still going to lose weight.

I agree with Marcie
Revisado: 02-28-14
What made the experience of listening to The Fast Metabolism Diet the most enjoyable?
She is a born motivator. If I had read this book myself I probably would not have tried this diet.
Any additional comments?
The only thing I will add to Marcie's review is that I was able to complete this diet with strong difficulty. When you complete it if you return to your old ways the weight will come back but not as fast as other diets. When you make the days I would say don't let yourself stray too far from the plan because I was mislead by the "fixing your metabolism" statement. No more than a week and if you have the willpower, go back to it. It is a very healthy diet but somewhat unrealistic for most to continue as a lifestyle. Her recipes suck! lol! But if you can cook you will figure out how to cook the way you like to eat.

Historia
Jenn Corbin appeared to have it all: two dear little boys, a posh home in one of the upscale suburbs of Atlanta, expensive cars, a plush houseboat, and a husband - Dr. Bart Corbin, a successful dentist - who was tall, handsome, and brilliant. But gradually, their seemingly idyllic life together began to crumble. Bart was distraught and Jenn seemed disenchanted. Then, just a few weeks before Christmas 2004, Jenn was found dead with a bullet in her head, an apparent suicide....

Did I chose the correct title?
Revisado: 01-10-12
Any additional comments?
I kept looking at the title thinking I chose the wrong book because the readers gave it such good reviews. Interesting only because it was a true story but boring in the way that it was told.

Historia
Determined to find out what happened to her former deputy chief, Jack Fielding, murdered six months earlier, Kay Scarpetta travels to the Georgia Prison for Women, where an inmate has information not only on Fielding, but also on a string of grisly killings. The murder of an Atlanta family years ago, a young woman on death row, and the inexplicable deaths of homeless people as far away as California seem unrelated. But Scarpetta discovers connections that compel her to conclude that what she thought ended with Fielding's death and an attempt on her own life is only the beginning....

The narrator was fine.
Do you think Red Mist needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Just okay
Revisado: 05-10-11
I keep telling myself I am going to stop pruchasing his books because they are just ok and some of them downright bombs. This on was just ok. I guess I keep buying them because I keep hoping for the oId James Patterson. I guess he just keeps popping them out to get as much money as he can before he retires. Dissapointed. I wanted to take one star off but it wouldn't let me. 2 stars!

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Good book.
Revisado: 08-14-10
This was my son's summer reading project. I hate slave books. Although I purchased the book for him, I also let him listen to it because I felt for him. Although we both found the action disturbing, my son came to me on several occasions to discuss this book. He also read along on some parts! It was interesting and the narrator did a great job. The only reason I didn't give it five is because it started off too slow. In the beginning I was ready to turn it off. So bear with her.
