Time to start healing

This was a feel good month. Janelle is getting a fresh start, and starting to heal from her ordeal last month. Wes is heading in the right direction too. Mia has a new direction and its’s bound to give her some hope and a sense of purpose. Healthier forevers are starting to look like a real possibility.

It was only supposed to be lunch.

First, the only thing to dislike is that it isn’t longer and isn’t (yet) the first in a series. I read my share of romance novels. I’ve read most of the major series and stand alone blockbusters. They’re good, don’t get me wrong. This is different, in all the right ways. Nobody would expect a few minutes backstage between a young adult boy bander, and a young at heart, but middle aged mom could capture my heart and mind. But, oh did it! The depth of the characters, the depth of their feelings for each other. Their sometimes perfect, sometimes not, relationships with their closest friends and family. The many strong, but minor, characters are so well thought out and well developed. Hayes, 20, the lead singer of a British boy band. Solene 39, beautiful, successful, art gallerist and mom. Their conversations, their chemistry, it was just off the charts! Simply perfect. There aren’t any gaps in the story. There isn’t a time where you ask yourself, what happened there, or where did that come from. The Idea of You is written by someone who is a true novelist. If this wasn’t romance (heaven forbid) I think it would still be amazing. Robbine brought us into the hearts and minds of her characters. Showed us how 20 and 40 can make a perfect 10! How completely he could fall in love. How deeply she could fall right back. Without coming out and saying so, I feel as though Robbine showed us what a double standard there is in relationships where the woman is older versus when the man is older. The reactions from friend and foe, and family, this couple faced would crumble the strongest of souls. This was only supposed to be lunch. At the moment, I believe this book is headed to the screen. While it’s very hard to make a movie for TV or theatre that even comes close to the book, I will go into it with an open mind and heart. I’ll love the story, no matter what. I’ll never stop patiently (really not so patient though) waiting for another novel by Robbine Lee. Whether it’s related to this book or these characters, or not. Whether it’s a work of fiction, or non, or a users manual for a broom, it will be brilliant. Of that, I’m sure.

Needs to be a movie!

The perfect ending to Mia and Wes’ year! The epilogue says it’s a movie and I think it should be. Thank you AC for 12 months of love and fun.

Lots happening for our Mia in September. People have her back like never before. I may not like cliff hangers. But, I know Audrey Carlan only keeps us guessing for a little while. Loved this one so much!
