Historia
Militant atheism is on the rise. In recent years, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens have produced a steady stream of best-selling books denigrating religious belief. These authors are merely the leading edge of a larger movement that includes much of the scientific community. In response, mathematician David Berlinski, himself a secular Jew, delivers a biting defense of religious thought.

In this revised and updated edition of The Case for Christ, Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis, asking hard-hitting questions—and taking a deeper look at the evidence from the fields of science, philosophy, and history.

J. Gresham Machen once said, "False ideas are the greatest obstacles to the reception of the Gospel" - which makes apologetics that much more important. Wanting to engage not just academics and pastors but Christian laypeople and seekers, William Lane Craig has revised and updated key sections in this third edition of his classic text to reflect the latest work in astrophysics, philosophy, probability calculus, arguments for the existence of God, and Reformed epistemology.

Be prepared to dive deeper than you thought possible. i would encourage reading Enguard by Craig first. This book digs into the very way people think about apologetics and the way that he can step back a look at the overaching thought behind the scriptures is amazing. Great job William Craig.

Historia
What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

Great teaching that will challenge the way you consider your life in Christ. Knowing what he went through and the sacrifices he made makes this book all the more impressive. He was a man that had to rely on God and His grace.

A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

C.S. Lewis takes the Problem of Pain to another level. He shows how pain is something that doesn't disprove God but actually makes sense only in a universe with God in it.

Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C. S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging and humorous account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.

Great book, recommendation for sure.
Revisado: 10-18-17
I'm biased. I have been a Razi Zacharias fan for a while. He has an incredible way of fully explaining why he thinks and believes the way he does. Vince Vitale as well has spent a lot of time thinking through his beliefs to best explain how to articulate any given question.
Suffering is a hard subject that has and will affect us all. However, knowing the underlying premise of the question helps with understanding why the question is valid or not.
I hope this book finds someone right in the midst of their suffering to add some comfort and some understanding of why Christianity answers the question with the best explanation.

Wow, this will tell you more than you would have never even known to ask. There is so much detail it's hard to give a description of what this book is like. I say it's a must have for anyone wanting to know know how did we get from Jesus to the present. I would also say that the author presented the material in the most honest non denominational bias that he could have possibly done. Great book.
