Historia
Compiled by intrepid journalist Neve Pride, this archive of recordings spans the months after dragons emerged on earth, chronicling the communities that sprang up amid the destruction, the scientists, military leaders, and experts searching for a defense, and those steadfastly seeking the missing. Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

So Unexpectedly Good!
Revisado: 04-04-25
Honestly I didn’t think this book would be as good as it was. The narration, the performance, the writing was all so very good. It felt like it could be a real documentary. If it didn’t involve dragons you couldn’t tell me this didn’t happen in real life that’s how descriptive and authentic the writing and performance was. 10/10 recommend!

Historia
A classic work of feminist scholarship, Ain't I a Woman has become a must for all those interested in the nature of Black womanhood. Examining the impact of sexism on Black women during slavery, the devaluation of black womanhood, black male sexism, racism among feminists, and the black woman's involvement with feminism, hooks attempts to move us beyond racist and sexist assumptions. The result is nothing short of groundbreaking, giving this work a critical place in every feminist scholar's library.

Profound and Enlightening
Revisado: 02-24-25
As a historian and black woman who considers herself a feminist this book was both profound and very enlightening and helped me to see that there was still even more that I could learn about the history of racism and sexism in America and how we are all affected by it and what we can do to combat them both equally but separately. I look forward to my new knowledge continuing to shape my thinking and how I interact with society. I give this book a 5/5! I only wish I had read it sooner.

An Amazing Debut
Revisado: 01-27-25
I rounded up to a 5 because overall I really really enjoyed the book. The writing is great, very descriptive. I love the time period and the overall premise of the characters being wealthy and intelligent because it did exist in the 1920s for AA’s and I believe those stories should be told just as much as the poor/slave/down trodden stories are told. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending.
*SPOILERS*
*SPOILERS*
Ok that should be enough distance for me to mention my spoilers. Who was Sam and why was there no story on him? I knew who the Mayor was from the start but I wish the author would’ve written more about him and why he did all that he did in the book. The devastating events with her parents were skimmed over. What happened to Sequoia? I wish there was more told in the last hour of the book to really wrap it up and it would have been perfect. That really is my only complaint.

Great Performance
Revisado: 01-15-25
The performances by CoCo, Keith, Queen Latifah and really all of the cast was outstanding. The writing was a little cliched and had some cheesy moments and obvious stereotypes, especially in the beginning, but it was still enjoyable.

Historia
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Too Many Holes
Revisado: 01-15-25
The book started out really good but then got lost on pointless details. I loved the twists but there were so many holes in the story and there was no real reveal. It just moved on. Only a few things were thoroughly explained. Then it was over and the ending was random with no rhyme or reason. I was disappointed because it had great potential and the narration was great but overall it was average.

Historia
Ever since I met my handsome husband Dr Gabe Bonneville, I started playing the role of the perfect housewife. He works hard as a surgeon, so I look after our home, and throw elaborate dinner parties with champagne cocktails for his best friends Hugh and Anita. He’s my safe place and my chance to have the family I’ve always wanted. I’ve managed to hide the mornings when I wake up and see a face in the shadows. I haven’t told Gabe the truth about the woman who raised me, or told him about the therapy I’ve been getting so my secrets stay hidden in the dark.

The Narration We Deserve!
Revisado: 10-27-24
I have enjoyed all 7 of Anna Lou Weatherly’s books in the Dan Riley series but the narration of this one takes the cake! I mean I really felt each and every character and every single emotion. The books are so good and well written and the narration brings it all to life. This series is a 10/10. I don’t know what I’m going to do without another book in my new found favorite series.

All Over The Place
Revisado: 08-31-24
This book was all over the place and not in a good way. I knew who it was the entire time thanks to other Sci Fi movies I’ve watched but there were so many holes and so much confusion. I still have so many questions but it wasn’t good enough to listen to again. The only redeeming factor were the performances and the fact that the plot seemed good if it weren’t for all the holes and no explanations. Idk maybe it is a setup for more books that will explain things further.

This Is Absolutely A Story About Racism
Revisado: 08-22-24
I really enjoyed this story as I’m a history buff and didn’t know this. I just want to say that regardless of the fact that black people complained about the MOVE people doesn’t make it less about racism. After all, indoctrinated and brainwashed black people assisted slave catchers and slave drivers as well. The fact that they destroyed an entire black neighborhood with very little regard, even though those people were on the government’s side and tried to adhere to white respectability politics, proves even further that this was 100 percent about racism. So please understand that. The only flaw in the book is I would have liked a little more insight as to what the actual complaints were from the neighbors and what exactly was taught that had everyone so upset.

A bit of adventure and quick cash is all that good-natured drifter Anthony Cade is looking for when he accepts a messenger job from an old friend. It sounds so simple: deliver the provocative memoirs of a recently deceased European count to a London publisher. Little did Anthony suspect that a simple errand to deliver the manuscript on behalf of his friend would drop him right in the middle of an international conspiracy, and he begins to realize that it has placed him in serious danger.

Probably Better As A Movie
Revisado: 05-07-24
I love all things Agatha Christie I just think maybe I should have actually read the book or it would have been better as a movie. Trying to keep up with all the characters was a true challenge although the narrator did an amazing job and tried his best to distinguish the characters. It was just too fast to keep up with audibly.

Great Performance, Letdown Ending
Revisado: 03-28-24
The performance was sooo good! The narrators were amazing! But then the ending was a huge letdown. It wasn’t complete and left so many questions and holes and I don’t know why. All they needed was about 20 more minutes to close the story. That was crazy. It was so good until the final 15 min.
