Historia
In the 1960s, Mao launched China’s Cultural Revolution. Cities grew overcrowded. Technocrats demanded progress from above. Anyone opposed was sent to be “re-educated.” China’s revolution was bloody, fast, and a failure, but what if America started a revolution at the same time, based on the same bad ideas, and it’s just been slower, calmer, and more effective?

The explanation of current political disorder
Revisado: 05-06-24
Anyone that is concerned about our country’s current political dysfunction should read this book. Rufo details the history of rise of Progressive wing of the Democratic Party from the 1950’s when it served the interests of organized labor to today where the Democratic Party serves primarily the interests of university professors and public employee unions. His writing is clear and well researched.
My father was a hardworking union member and believed in the union and all its benefits until he learned at retirement that union funds had been misused and the retirement he expected would not be available. That and my own experience with unions caused me to leave the Democratic Party and become an independent. After reading this book, you’ll understand why we ( our country) appears to be falling apart. Hopefully, with understanding we can begin to repair our nation.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 09-26-22
Joseph Conrad was an amazing writer and this book is my favorite, Kenneth Branagh gives Conrad’s words portent, the emotional power that grabs the reader and carries us to places that are real, dark and foreboding. What wonderful experience! Hold on tight! Enjoy the story and possibly learn something about yourself.

Historia
Intellectuals and Race is a radical book in the original sense - one that goes to the root of the problem. The role of intellectuals in racial strife is explored in an international context that puts the American experience in a wholly new light. The book explores the incentives, the visions, and the rationales that drive intellectuals at the highest levels to conclusions that have often turned out to be counterproductive and even disastrous, not only for particular racial or ethnic groups but for societies as a whole.

Historia
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal - or all three. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible - plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood.

John Waters is a husband and father happy with his lot in life, though he has not always felt that way. Years earlier he escaped an obsessive love affair, which he feared might consume him. Greg enters Steven's body
Revisado: 03-26-15
My wife and I are big Greg Iles fans and especially Penn Cage books. This book relied on Sci-Fi that weakened the story line for us. Greg's best work is based on Mississippi history exposing the good, bad and the ugly.
