Not Worth It
Revisado: 02-22-22
"So and so lived at such and such a time and killed so and so." That's about as deep as a lot of the stories included go. It was disappointing, because I really enjoyed "Get Well Soon" and "It Ended Badly" by Jennifer Wright. She went into good detail in those ones and brought some unique charm and humor into what would have otherwise been a bland and bleak listen. Here, however, it seemed like she was just listing off Wikipedia articles of the women's lives. I did not make it all of the way through due to this. I'd highly recommend her other books and avoiding this one.

A Great Audio Experience
Revisado: 02-22-22
This story is worth it for the effort they put into the audio alone. It all sounded real and like I was listening to a movie! The concept is really interesting as well, and I thought overall it had a great flow to it. I would recommend listening to this, and I am curious to hear if they do any more in this world!

Historia
More than a year after she helped save the world from the Sparnaxian invasion, Andrea Vernon is in a good place. Her boss is giving her greater responsibility and she’s getting to travel a lot (although her fill-in is hopeless at making coffee); things could be getting even more serious with her 8’ 4” superhero boyfriend, The Big Axe; and she has a really fun new BFF, Never More. Small issue, though, with that last item - Never More is a supervillain bent on world domination, and it looks as if nothing can stop her.

Not As Good As The First
Revisado: 04-23-19
I really loved the first one, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Part of it had to do with the fact that the story really should have lasted about an hour. The villain should have never gotten as far as they did with their plot. I know that the author was likely making a political statement or something, but it was frustrating to listen to.
There were a lot of funny moments, the characters are still all great and unique, and the narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. I just wish the characters had been in a better story.

Not What I Expected
Revisado: 04-05-19
The story pulled me in right from the start. The characters are all interesting and play off of each other really well. There are some cool ideas, but the story definitely takes a turn in its final third. I’m still not sure whether I liked the ending or not. Whatever the case, the book was well written and I will be looking into more books by Jeremy Robinson.

Historia
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

I loved the story, but James Franco's monotone delivery made it hard to listen to, and I wasn't able to finish it. I am hoping to give the book another shot in print form.

Entertaining, Riveting, Worth a Listen
Revisado: 08-27-18
I loved the concept of this book. At first, I didn't think that I would like chapters that centered on "Bobs" other than the main one, but each rendition of the character was diverse and interesting enough to make me invested in nearly all of their storylines. Ray Porter does an excellent job giving each Bob their own voice and quirks. The only issue that I had with this book was that it spends a lot of time early on bashing religion and explaining how a religious sect took over the world and how bad they are. There are no counterarguments, no other members of this religion who are actually good people; religion is simply evil. Maybe this is touched upon in the other books. That being said, once it got past that, "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)" was a fun read and I do plan on checking out the next one.

Spanning eras and cultures from ancient Rome to medieval England to 1950s Hollywood, Jennifer Wright's It Ended Badly guides you through the worst of the worst in historically bad breakups. In the throes of heartbreak, Emperor Nero had just about everyone he ever loved - from his old tutor to most of his friends - put to death. Oscar Wilde's lover, whom he went to jail for, abandoned him when faced with being cut off financially from his wealthy family.

On an island lives a boy called Peter and his band of merry lost boys, young forever. That is unless they get sick or killed by pirates or eaten by crocodiles or unless - inexplicably - they grow old. For some of them do grow old, and nobody knows why. One of these boys is called Jamie, and he was the first boy that Peter ever brought to the island. Jamie's lived there for longer than he can remember, and it's not all fun and games.

Loved It!
Revisado: 04-19-18
In this world of superhero movies, it is hard to find a unique take on the genre. This book accepts that challenge. The story is pretty simplistic, but it is still fun to listen to all of the characters interact in this wacky world. Bahni Turpin does a great job giving each character a unique and fun voice. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Douglas Adams, Jonas Jonasson, etc.
