Historia
First as a reporter and then as a PI, Tess Monaghan has learned how to survive and thrive on the streets of Baltimore. But a new case will force her to confront her own past, and a man she loved and lost. It starts when she gets a newspaper photograph of her old boyfriend with a tantalizing shard of headline attached: In Big Trouble. The answers lie far from Baltimore, deep in a world of good-time music, old-fashioned ambition, and rich people's games. For Tess must find out what happened to a man she thought she knew, to a woman who may have changed him forever, and to the victims of a killer who dances to a different - and deadly - drummer.

Narrator does not fit the main character.
Revisado: 09-07-15
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator's voice is much to old for the main character. The narrator did a good job otherwise, but a poor voice choice for a woman in her late twenties.
Any additional comments?
Might skip a couple of books ahead in the series because they are also read by Deborah Harkness.

Historia
The year is 1883, and in New York City it's a time of dizzying splendor, crushing poverty, and tremendous change. With the gravity-defying Brooklyn Bridge nearly complete and New York in the grips of antivice crusader Anthony Comstock, Anna Savard and her cousin, Sophie - both graduates of the Woman's Medical School - treat the city's most vulnerable, even if doing so may put everything they've strived for in jeopardy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, definitely! The story (Sara Donati) and the story telling (Cassandra Cambell) are a first rate!
Any additional comments?
If you have an interest in well written, well read historical novels, don't overlook Sara Donati (aka Rosina Lippi), especially when read by Cassandra Campbell! I didn't want the book to end and luckily it appears to be the first book in a series. Unluckily, I am an impatient waiter and want the next book NOW, lol).
Kudos for both Sara Donati and Cassandra Campbell - so well done!

Historia
Lex, a teenage Grim Reaper, has the power to damn souls - and it’s getting out of control. Her boyfriend, Driggs, is dead - sort of. She’s a fugitive, on the run from the maniacal new mayor of Croak and the townspeople who want to see her pay the price for her misdeeds. Uncle Mort rounds up the Junior Grims to flee Croak once again, but this time they’re joined by Grotton, the most powerful Grim of all time. Their new mission is clear: Fix his mistakes, or the Afterlife will cease to exist, along with all the souls in it.

Historia
Lenna Faircloth thought she was content enough to be junior librarian at one of the grandest libraries on the Continent, so long as at the end of the day she can enjoy a glass (or two) of wine and some decent shut-eye. Reticent and unconcerned with trivial matters, Lenna is almost laughably nonplussed the day her childhood friend, Gilbert, appears at her door, asking her to help smuggle stolen goods across national borders.
