Master of suspense James Patterson continues the Women's Murder Club series with this nail-biter of a sequel to 1st to Die. Four women - a police detective, an assistant D.A., a journalist, and a medical examiner - combine their efforts, risking everything, to catch a serial killer. Predictable
Revisado: 07-15-24
I feel bad leaving a meh review because I usually love my audio book choices. But the storyline was predictable. One twist on words that were used throughout was revealed at the end. I’ve really enjoyed some of her books more. And the voice of the narrator was almost irritating-she lacks the range needed for different characters.

Waited for that final twist!!
Revisado: 07-04-24
I felt like it was a slow start but then the twists started happening and I wasn’t expecting the final one…although I knew something didn’t quite add up.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

The voice that soothes!
Revisado: 02-11-24
First, I could listen to Matthew any day, any time for hours...he is a great story teller. His narration of his own book was such a wise choice. He is able to project the emotions of what he felt telling his own story better than anyone ever could. The honesty and transparency was eye opening. I appreciated the raw, unapologetic view into his life accounts and the wisdom he shares from his experiences and beliefs. I've listened to it twice and HIGHLY recommend to anyone, even if you're not already totally enamoured with him.

Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

Wasn't expecting that until the end!
Revisado: 02-11-24
I've seen some somewhat negative comments on the "cliffhanger" which made me apprehensive about the read. I thought maybe it wouldn't be solved. But in true Crime Junkie form, she dug in and made it happen. I won't disclose the cliffhanger, but will say, it won't leave you disappointed. The story was well-written and I could visualize so much of it with the details. Best part, it litterally left me wondering until the end. I loved it!
