Historia
Gabriel de León has saved the Holy Grail from death, but his chance to end the endless night is lost. Drawn into an uneasy alliance with the mysterious vampire Liathe, Gabriel must now deliver the Grail to ancients of the Blood Esani, and learn the truth of how Daysdeath might be finally undone. But the Last Silversaint faces peril, within and without. Pursued by terrors of the Blood Voss, drawn into warfare between the Blood Dyvok and duskdancers of the frozen Highlands, and ravaged by his own rising bloodlust, Gabriel may not survive to see the Grail learn her truth.

Book 1 was a tough act to follow but kristoff pulls it off
Revisado: 04-21-25
Realizing book 2 would not have the same backflashes with Astrid and his family made me sit on the fence for a while to see if EotD would be a disappointment. And thankfully it is woven together very beautiful. Super impressive actually. Well done kristoff.
The blossoming father daughter relationship between Gabe and Dior is beautiful (reminds me of the last of us). As always - comedy and sarcasm top tier. Sibling rivalry is hilarious. And we get present day set up nicely.

Historia
There are many things that Annah would like to forget: the look on her sister's face before Annah left her behind in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, her first glimpse of the Horde as they swarmed the Dark City, the sear of the barbed wire that would scar her for life. But most of all, Annah would like to forget the morning Elias left her for the Recruiters. Annah's world stopped that day, and she's been waiting for Elias to come home ever since. Somehow, without him, her life doesn't feel much different than the dead that roam the wasted city around her.

Didn’t stick the landing
Revisado: 02-04-25
Needed the conclusion for our characters but not as good as Mary and gabry. I genuinely don’t understand the good reviews. People seem to hate book 2 and that was my favorite. After falling in love with this cast of characters via Tara sands - this narrator falls so flat. ESPECIALLY Elias and Connell.
Also just can’t stand Ana. And how everyone hates on her bc of her scars. She just seems like a gabry knock off and it’s painful throughout the whole book.
Also - part of what I loved about Elias and gabry in book2 was that they were always at each others throats - it was like full battery she slapped the shit out of him and they both were very opinionated. Now they’re just like gooey eyed and love sloppy and it’s honestly tired. Wtf

Gabry lives a quiet life. As safe a life as is possible in a town trapped between a forest and the ocean, in a world teeming with the dead, who constantly hunger for those still living. She’s content on her side of the Barrier, happy to let her friends dream of the Dark City up the coast while she watches from the top of her lighthouse. But there are threats the Barrier cannot hold back. Threats like the secrets Gabry’s mother thought she left behind when she escaped from the Sisterhood and the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Like the cult of religious zealots who worship the dead.

Even better than 1 - LOVE ocean callback 😍
Revisado: 01-30-25
I am so surprised by the reviews here. The narrator is perfect for the story and I think the protagonist and story line improves immensely from the first. You can tell Ryan has improved her craft as an author. It’s poetic how Mary’s daughter’s heroism and strength and love story happens in the ocean (I always loved that Mary’s was religious “pray w me mary” 😢) It’s a coming together of the first act in a most brilliant twist w this generation.
Well done Ryan 💕

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

I’m loving the sarcastic lovable murderess trope here. Very cute romance and deep cutting mystery. Pretty obsessed.
Also this was MADE to be an audio book and the performance is out of the park

A rough one 💔
Revisado: 11-11-24
Heartbreaking. Loved the sinister Grimm style fairy tale of it all. Honestly my favorite part was the beginning with the brothers. The ending was so sad (despite the HEA) and sooooo frustrated my Simons story arc. Had to take an abrupt break after the last time we see him bc it gutted me so badly. Very attached to these characters. Red leaves a little something to be desired as a MMC but he’s not really the center of the story. The brothers 💔💔💔 ugh killed me
BEWARE very dark and graphic at times. This did really rattle me - plus TERRIBLY outdated negative body tropes about young girls being extra skinny and underfed. Could have done without that
Amazing narration that added undeniably to the story (Finbar: Let go Sorcha - uhhhh 😭💔)

Revisado: 09-15-24
Everything I want in a fantasy!! I wasn’t sure how the author was going to extend the story but I find the griff/ixion story arc sooooooooooooo satisfying. Griff and Sparker are badass and I am so here for how Annie takes the reins in this book to defend callipolis. She is a top tier military commander!! Lees moral purity also fits his character so well. And positions their shaky stalemate as very believable.
Ps - I LOVE how down bad Power is for Antigone. I will scream if there isn’t more of a triangle in book 3. The set up is perfect.

Gobbled this up immediately - Tom Riddle PERFECT NARRAtor
Revisado: 08-30-24
SOOOOO GOOD. Flips ever trope on its head. The hero. The maiden. The super strength sexy villain. The badass lion fighter. The shining knights. Every trope has a deeper layer that subverts the expectation. Also LOVE the gender ambiguity and bi love triangle. It’s sexy (but still innocent and YA), it’s epic and adventurous with compelling dialogue and complex characters. Very plot driven and fast paced which for me is a must.
For me it’s up there with Red Rising, Will of the Many + Licanious trilogy, sword catcher, cruel prince and one dark window. Do yourself a favor and read it ☺️

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

How… do ppl like this so much???
Revisado: 08-15-24
I wanted really badly to get into this book. It’s got a great premise. I love the world and the IDEA of the story. It could have been a dark and sexy critique on purity culture and power and control. But the overall tone and the dialogue and surface level characters ruin all that. It is so cringe and cheesy my face twisted of embarrassment and eventually had to DNF.
