Historia
Teach Us to Sit Still is the visceral, thought-provoking, and inexplicably entertaining story of how Tim Parks found himself in serious pain, how doctors failed to help, and the quest he took to find his own way out. Overwhelmed by a crippling condition which nobody could explain or relieve, Parks follows a fruitless journey through the conventional medical system only to find relief in the most unexpected place: a breathing exercise that eventually leads him to take up meditation. This was the very last place Parks anticipated finding answers.

Exciting, authentic and hopeful
Revisado: 05-07-23
How difficult it is to find a pope who is a follower of Christ. The narrative has many heroes, negative and positive. Until the end of this conclave, told intimately and authentically from the point of view of the protagonist Cardinal Lomeli, it remains immensely exciting.

Historia
Set over four days against the backdrop of the Munich Conference of September 1938, Munich follows the fortunes of two men who were friends at Oxford together in the 1920s. Hugh Legat is a rising star of the British diplomatic service, serving in 10 Downing Street as a private secretary to the Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain. Paul von Hartmann is on the staff of the German Foreign Office - and secretly a member of the anti-Hitler resistance. They have not been in contact for more than a decade.

Inspirational but too much self-advertising
Revisado: 06-27-20
I really enjoyed Dan Miller's clear focus on a user-oriented marketing communication. The continuous explizit, loud and lengthy advertising of his own services on the other hand creates a lot of irritating noise in the book. After all Miller says, he preaches the gospel of the user and not the company.

Bad storytelling in a book about storytelling
Revisado: 09-10-19
After 20 minutes I had to stop listening. The narrator tells a lot of personal stories and uses them as examples of storytelling. Yet, her voice acting is over the top and unauthentic. The stories are also a bit drawn out and synthetic. To me, this is no good storytelling!

It still takes a major effort of historical imagination to enter the minds of those who lived during the Reformation Era; who were willing to suffer martyrdom or martyr others for what we would regard as minor doctrinal differences. These 36 lectures are designed to take you inside the minds of those who supported the Reformation and those who resisted it.

Historia
Attorney Calvin Dexter hangs his shingle in a quiet New Jersey town, has a reasonably successful practice, and takes the hills strong while triathlon training. But Dexter is no ordinary lawyer. On Sundays, he reads the paper and shuffles around his dark, empty house, trying to forget about a life he has lost forever. Until, of course, Dexter reads something in the papers that sends him the necessary signal. Until one of the handful who know of Dexter's other life tries to contact him. For in a world that has forgotten right and wrong, few can settle a score like Cal Dexter can.
